The only thing I was disappointed about in this scene was that, in the manga at the moment when Iino is alone and starring at the heart pendant Ishigami just gave her, the narration says "And at that moment... the seeds of the next conflict were laid." Well, that's deep/something else since to Iino she tried so hard to have him move up a level, doesn't let him be suspended, fail etc. but he wastes it. That's her POV same with Ishigami. That's why Ishigami tells to Prez that Iino plays with fire. They say they don't need to be thanked/acknowledged but deep down they do. That's why with the remaining chapters I'm hoping that Iino founds out that Ishigami was the one who wrote an encouraging letter and the flower she treasures as a bookmark. 100% she won't hold herself back if she found out. Ive not seen the anime, nor read the manga, I've seen clips, (mostly on Kaguya and shirogane) and did not know much about ishigami and lino. But this scene alone made me have the feels as if I known alot more about those two and their relationship than I ever had before the scene. In addition, I know feel as if their relationship has just changed massively after this scene. That's a great scene right there.

I have an interesting theory. Akasaka said in some interviews that his fovourite character is Maki and that the idea for Kaguya sama came when he was cooking and start thinking about highschool relationships and how he didn't have the opportunity to experience them, so he created this manga to compensate for his lack of youthful experineces. Perhaps Maki is somewhat of a self insert for him and that's why everyone close to her (Kaguya, Miyuki, Ishigami, Nagisa and Nagisa's boyfriend) have/will have an idealic highschool relationship while she stays at the side, just like how an author does with their characters. In conclusion we should love Maki otherwise no one will.
