and nothing new... before our Rebirth and even in its year, the Vilnius-Riga train ran... and it still stopped in Kaunas and stopped more often than now...😓

Because most parts of the route from Vilnius to Riga are not electrified.

I don't think, that it will happen in the near future. There are some electrification projects on Lithuania's side, but there are no such plans in Latvia.
