I find your review to mirror my experience. I have the Fuji 56 1.2 and I bought this Viltrox as a cheaper alternative to the Fuji 50 f2. I am quite pleased with the results the Viltrox 56 1.7 offers especially at the price. Thank you again Mr. Goldby.

Glad to hear you like this little lens. There are still times when I use the XF 50mm f/2, but this little lens comes with me more often than not, these days. When you don't need to carry the XF 56mm, this is a great alternative.

I’ve been trying to decide between the Viltrox 56mm f1.7 and the TTArtisan 56mm f1.8 for my Sony, and it’s honestly tough! Viltrox looks well-suited for everyday shooting, but something about TTArtisan’s sharpness for portraits makes it tempting. Has anyone here tried both for portraits? I’m leaning toward TTArtisan, but open to input!

I got this lens a few months back now and I love it. I don't know why. It was surely not in my plans to love it. But holy cats, it hits a real sweet spot for me. I run mine on my X-T5.

It's really hard to fault for most uses. Personally, I still absolutely love my XF 56mm, but they serve different roles and this little guy is the one I keep reaching for when I walk out the door.

Best is very subjective. I'd say it's one of the ones you should look at. Consider my comment at the end of the video

Sans any weather sealing and an aperture ring, but with slightly better optical performance and less of the digital correction Fujfilm applies.

@@DylanGoldbyPhotographer And a brighter aperture, longer focal length and ergos that make more sense on the X-S20... man, if only we had something similar between 18-23mm you could have a nice trio alongside Fuji's 35mm f2 XC.
