This film has been very moving to watch on this 100th Anniversary of Vimy Ridge. My Mom was on the 1936 pilgrimage with her aunt whose husband had lost a leg in the battle and couldn't go. Thank you Steve and Roy for allowing these memories to be shared and to live on..

Oh wow, I just wondered if there is anyone alive to remember this pilgrimage, my maternal grandmother would've been 6 years old.

Thanks for posting this. My great-uncle, J. Augustin Goulet, MBE was among the group.

F. W. Motton was aboard the Montcalm. His son, Frederick A. Motton, was 11 in 1936, seen here standing on the wharf. F.A. Motton served in the RoyalCanadian Corps of Signals in WWII. His grandson, Roy Motton, loaded and added the music for his great-grandson, Cpl Kevin Motton who read a poem at Vimy Ridge, November 11, 2014. You obtained the footage from Roy's brother Eric when he dropped by your shop with a USB key to convert to DVD.

Roy could you contact me about this footage?

Beautiful. It would be very interesting to visit the WW1 battlefields so relatively recently after it ended.

I have to wonder if my grandfather, Stanley Brown of the 48th, was in any of these shots.

Is there someway to discuss this footage with Roy Motton directly?

Mr. Motton, I would be most interested in discussing with you use of this footage as part of Veterans Affairs Canada's promotion of the Vimy Memorial. Please contact me at amandakelly@vac-acc.gc.ca
