Thank you to today's episode sponsor, BetterHelp- betterhelp.com/vintra
Every year cars get more complicated, heavier and packed with technologies that make driving easier but not necessarily more fun. So here are two ends of the spectrum- A brand new Lotus Emira v6 manul and my 700hp BMW e36 M3 race car that is street legal. Where else will you find this completely logical pair up?

Leaving Hoonigan was one of the biggest decisions I ever had to make. I had never made decent money prior to that job and to most, it seemed absolutely insane to walk away. I knew it was what I wanted to do but no one truly agreed. To salt the wound, once I made the jump I was overwhelmed with self doubt and regret. Struggling with finding the confidence on what to do next or what i was even good at. Even taking time off just made it worse. Sometimes you gotta catch yourself before you spiral and get some perspective or help. Life is a series of decisions you have to make for yourself. If you think you need some help or someone to talk to, just do it! Betterhelp.com/vintra - save some bucks and get the help you need to live a good life.

@@krapfen1907 yeah, I'm chill with Vin getting sponsors and admittedly a smaller channel means less of a pool to choose from but BetterHelp is under fire for more than one thing including not vetting their therapists for licenses in the first place. Vin your opinion on cars is so valid because you're not someone who goes out buying loads of brand new cars, you're a petrolhead like us. I drive a 2021 MX-5/Miata RF which was my dream affordable car and I love it for the engagement but sometimes I miss having a refined car with luggage space so something like the Emira might be a sports car that ticks all the boxes when I replace the MX-5. Also, never justify having sponsors, real fans know this is how you make money and wouldn't be able to continue doing what you do without them.

The DRIVERS ERA content is taking shape and it feels like you’ve found a great niche. It’s not about reviews of quirks, features or performance, and it’s not about a specific driving style or scene. Instead, it’s about the feeling of connection with a car-the feeling that the machine extends your physical senses in such a real, visceral way. Without this, we’d all just be geeking out over stats and facts like a fandom. That personal, bodily connection is what is at the core of any car culture.

I'm loving your channel and the content so far, used to watch hoonigan on the regular, especially daily Transmission and the mayhem it brought, but glad to see most of the guys happy doing their own thing now. Plus it's great seeing the Cameos on each channel. I've watched channels like Cleetus for a long time and he has ads too. I loved the content. I would have given this vid 2x thumbs up if could 👍🏻 👍🏻. The first for the rain coming through the roof and the 2nd for the trim falling off. Hilarious. The music and the scene's of all the BMW's driving together was epic. Remiiscent of an early fast and furious movie. But with way cooler cars. You’ve definitely hit the spot with content choice. Which is impressive in this highly contested segment. Analogue is definitely more fun and enjoyable than the digital offerings of the newer cars being made right now. Keep it coming. 🇬🇧

I'm coming from a BRZ, and I got to test drive the Emira (and have a deposit for it). I felt something was missing from the Emira. I think the fact it redlines at low 6K rpm really killed the joy for me. It feels like it has more to give, but by the time you're there, it's time to shift. It's like engine blue balls. Looks great, and I realllyyyyyy realllyyy wanted to love it because the looks were so good. But you're right about the engine. Maybe a Larini exhaust will liven it up, but it's just not the same visceral feeling! For now I'll keep the deposit and wait for the base edition. Cuz at $99K I really think the Emira FE is too pricey.
@fnkdrspok7181
@fnkdrspok7181 Ай бұрын
Lol does not redline at 6k, you have to let the engine warmup first and the redline goes up to 7k. Not great, but you don't actually start feeling the 400 hp until around 6k. Owning this car is much different than test driving it.

But during the Hoonigan days, I cant say i was the biggest Vin fan, not that I disliked you but i just didnt have an opinion but I am really enjoying this new chapter in yours and some of the other guys lives, at least from a viewer perspective it is so much more relatable and we can actually learn something about you, your interests, who you are, etc. and at least for myself personally that is what i enjoy the most. Its more like watching a friend then watching an "actor in a tv show". Advanced warning, this will be a long winded comment. First, I can’t think of a single successful YT personality who doesn’t have sponsor details in their videos. What I appreciate is people who have sponsors they believe in and support. BetterHelp has been great for thousands of people, and if you truly utilized it to get through the challenges of taking this leap, then more power to you. Second, I think of your channel/vlogs similarly to early JRE (Joe Rohan Experience). He wasn’t sure what he was doing. He didn’t know what was right, wrong, or in between. He poured his heart into it, learned lessons along the way, and now has one of the most viewed podcasts on the planet. My point: keep doing your thing. Subscribers may come and go, but what most of us real enthusiasts want to spend our time watching is real, honest content that provides us second-hand experiences we’d otherwise never have knowledge of. Third, the Emira review. Getting your and Alex’s take on the Emira is awesome. It’s a very new car generally speaking, and as you said, you’ve driven tons of different cars. Whether any of us had $100k to blow on one or not, it’s awesome to have an honest critique. Fourth, the BMW trip/meet. To me this was the best part because it reminded me of a trip my wife, some buddies, and I took to Ice Cream Cruise at i29 in Pacific Junction a couple of years ago. It’s ~2hrs from Des Moines, and it was sunny and clear when we got ready to head out so I took the tops off my 2000 Formula. About 40 minutes from the event we got caught in a short, but intense, downpour in bumper to bumper traffic. The t tops were locked in the hatch, so my wife and I just enjoyed the refreshing cool down and each others company. Everything dried up by the time we made it to the event and it was beautiful, much like your trip. Those cars were incredible, and the location… wow. Lastly, thank you for continuing to put out the content YOU ENJOY MAKING! The reason Hoonigan got so big is because of the personalities you, Zach, Hert, and a few others brought all of us. You’re all true car guys, and the sincerity we viewers felt while watching the content has always been unmatched. I know you’ve got a busy life and may not read all of the comments in their entirety, but if you made it this far I’d like to thank you for continuing to give all of us something to look forward to. Sometimes life can be cumbersome and challenging, and knowing we at least have a new video coming soon helps us keep our heads up and determination alive. Hell, your video last week inspired me to go wrench for a couple of hours and organize my tools. Thanks for everything, Vin! Looking forward to seeing what merch you come out with as well. I’ll certainly be supporting you in that way as well.

Bro you have to make a living. A sponsor doesn’t mean you’ve sold out or something- and we know that. No need to justify. Congrats on a good sponsor. Loving the new channel.

I was a little sad when hoonigan feel apart. But I’m so happy you, Zach,Hert, ,Suppy and the boys. Made your own KZbin channel. I really enjoy the content especially yours Vin! I’m realized I used to be so entertained with hoonigan vids because of you all. Please keep it up. You are doing a kick a** job. I will watch every video you put out bud! 🙏🏽

Honestly brotha, just keep having fun with your cars and the occasional Hoonigan cameo, is all I want👌🏾. It’s inspiring and keeps fired up about making time for mods, see someone else enjoy the community and also seeing someone live out their automotive passion.

Hey Vin! Some feedback (since you asked 😅) 1. You’re a great content creator. Your energy is great, you are 100% a CAR GUY that I think other car guys enjoy hearing from. The colabs with the old Hoonigang us great and I love seeing you on DDE. 2. The split content in the last few episodes has been tough for me personally to digest. Title & thumbnail say one thing then half the video is something else. I REALLY enjoyed the beauty shots of the BMW event, and the trials of getting there. But I clicked for the Lotus. I’d be interested to see what you can do with a whole episode on the Lotus and a whole episode on the BMW event. Either way keep it up. Oh, one more thing, your house is sick! Would love a brief tour if its not too personal for you and your lady.

Epic episode Vin, you did something you enjoy - driving/car show, there was a mix of things - a new car experience & race cars on the road, a good mix of cars, bonus - you got to hang out with Larry again but most of all you kept to your same edit style so hopefully the episode for you was enjoyable to film and edit. Because, for us, it was the same, rad, cool music vibe, sunny L.A. shed clips (at the start 😂) and a mix of things to keep us engaged... The Lotus started to get boring, so you pointed out it's cons, then you switched to some BMW's and race cars on the road struggles which was great for our entertainment. I love the dry humour of your videos and the music. The L.A. vibe is awesome, and your content keeps me coming back. I usually just click a like on your videos but I thought I should let you know that I am stoked to see your videos doing amazing regarding views so I hope in turn this keeps this format going because I really look forward to watching your videos. I watch on an 85" TV and the quality is great and the sound through our sound bar and sub is nice. 10 out of 10 mate. Best wishes from Australia 🦘 !

Another fun video to watch! Congrats on the sponsor. That was actually a great review on that Lotus. It came out so natural. Edutainment at its best. Alex would be an excellent co-host if you do decide to review some more featured whips. Great to see Ron and the FD, and Larry Chen! I loved the segment with the bros and the bimmers! Yeah the meet looked fantastic. Keep up the fine work, Sir!

Vin, no need to justify sponsors, it's just part of youtube creator monetization. You make good content and deserve to be financial supported doing so, we know youtube itself isn't gonna pay out that much. Just don't forget as your channel grows, CHARGE MORE. Don't let companies low ball you for a 60 second spot or whatever.

It's a tricky balance, i imagine, to have the access and the experiences you do, Vin, and yet keep 'the rest of us' feeling relatable. Hence all the comments about feeling you are genuine and enjoying you being real. I think it would be real easy to have your perspective skew with time. anyway; great job, i agree with so many comments that you come across genuine and real and i enjoy the vids so far immensly. i dont think you can do car reviews constantly, there just aren't that manyinteresting new cars these days, but this was fun and i enjoyed. once again well done!
