The biggest bang for your buck is the 997 GT3, basically same engine and transmission of the GT3 RS but almost half the price. The experience is 98% the same.

Recently purchased a 997 Turbo S and it’s been blissful. The 997 generation represents the best of the water cooled cars from Porsche, IMO. Great video, Vin!

In a weird sort of way, the 992 seems to have really dated the 991 (unless we are talking about GT cars). And now that the 991 isn’t the latest body, I think it somehow sort of propelled the uniqueness of the 997. I’m also a bit surprised how close they are in price now.

The 997 is goated. They had two white 997 Carrera's at the shop where I service my BMW when I went for my last service. They have something that catches your eye regardless of whether it's the base 911.

love this concept. C6 corvette would lend itself super well to this format. I would also say E90 BMW could be cool on a different price point with the 328, 335, M3 or the 1 or 2 series too. Also different Generations of the same car would be cool like CTS-V, M3, M5, etc. Loving the content Vin!

The 997 Turbo was the first production car to have variable vein turbos fitted. So the turbo lag is limited. FYI If you have a mic you should use it when in the car, you wouldn’t have to shout. Great video though on my favourite Porsche model (I’m an owner).

I graduated from business school in 2003. The Porsche made that year is what I bought for myself. All these years later, getting a new job one old white guy who worked there has an M3. he attempted to make fun of my Porsche as he was no longer the guy with the fastest car. LOL. I could not care less what other males think of my 911. Been a great car.

Agreed. And to help put perspective on the upper end of the buying spectrum, the 997.2 GT3RS may be in the $330k range, but a regular 997.2 GT3 (w/ let’s say 25k miles) can be had down in the $160k to $170k range. Of course that’s still a LOT more than a C2S, and even probably $40k more than the 997.2 Turbo … but hey, it’s only money right?

As a GT2 Owner I can say you made a great purchase. The GT3 is a drivers car through and through. We've had only one GT3 and it was very fun to drive. Sadly the GT2 doesn't move much due to mileage creep which is normal for these cars and similar.
