@11sfr Жыл бұрын
@@michaelbrinks8089 No, they specifically state in the movie that Eddie was given that plot of land by the government as a settlement relating to the VA botching the surgery on the plastic plate in his head (in Vacation, he has a metal plate from an injury in Vietnam, by Christmas Vacation, its been replaced with a plastic one, since the metal was interfering with microwave ovens, and by Vegas Vacation, he's been granted title to part of a former nuclear test site in exchange for not suing over some complication from that).

@@michaelbrinks8089 It's the same RV Eddie came to Clark's house in in Christmas Vacation. He already lost the farm by that time, probably had it taken due to that $52,000 he said he needed in the first Vacation, and he couldn't come close to coming up with it (Clark was only able to give him $500), the bank had to take his farm. And like I said, he already had the RV in Christmas Vacation and sometime after then, the Government allowed him to permanently park it on the piece of land in Nevada

The Vacations Series is one of the rare franchises in which every movie is genuinely entertaining.
@alvexok552311 ай бұрын
Yeah. All 4 of them are very funny. Vegas Vacation maybe a tad bit less than the other 3. But actually it had some pretty funny parts also such as all of the scenes at the blackjack table between Clark and Wallace Shawn's character, and all of the scenes with Eddie. Eddie definitely helped making the franchise funnier, his absence in European Vacation is partly why that movie wasn't as well liked as the others, although there were definitely some very funny moments in that movie too such as the scenes in London at the hotel, cameos from Eric Idol and Robbie Coltrane and the reactions from the various English guys Clark keeps hitting with his car, the roundabout sequence ("look kids, Big Ben"), and knocking over Stonehenge. And then in Germany them managing to spend an entire night with the wrong people because they went to the wrong house, lol, and the action chase sequence in Rome and then Clark running into Eric Idol's character again, lol

Of course, you don't get too many of them out here in the desert" Lol This is a bit off the subject, but the US southwest has only a sub-desert climate and terrains, because there are some forms of plant species there like shrubs and cacti. It's because of the infrequent rains they get. But there are no full deserts in the US south west like in the Middle East and the Sahara in northern Africa. The full deserts in those places have no plant life at all, it's all baron rocky terrain and sand dunes. But in the southwest US, there are no sand dunes, it's all got shrubs and cactus 🌵 It's because the Middle East and Sahara very rarely see rain, definitely less often than in the southwest US

The part that cracks me up is when he throws the chicken on the rock and it sizzles, Clark's reaction was GOLD. Now everyone likes to make fun of Cousin Eddie and I am sure everyone has a Cousin Eddie in their family. He might mooch a little bit off of you but when push came to shove, EDDIE was THERE for CLARK, during CLARK's time of need. He fed Clark, took him to the cheap buffet, and even offered Clark a place to stay at his house and he could relive how good he had it. That is why at the end of the movie Clark gave Eddie the money that they won from Keno, the money that the old man told him to take the ticket. Anyways, Eddie in reality was a stand up guy.
@alvexok552311 ай бұрын
Eddie has always tried to be loyal to Clark. Even if he hasn't always made smart choices, like Clark said about him in Christmas Vacation, "His heart's bigger than his brain". Clark has helped Eddie too, and even though he didn't have the $52,000 he needed in Vacation, Clark still gave him $500. It's too bad as a result, Eddie lost the farm sometime between Vacation and Christmas Vacation.

His spread probably is very nice with sunsets and BBQs with privacy, peace and quiet.

Ahhhhh maybe not there but I have partied many times in places that looked just exactly like that. Middle of dry lake beds sand dunes. The desert is such a great place to live. Sunshine warm weather and most of lots of places to get lost. On purpose of course.

if it's hot enough to cook meat on a rock then it must be like a furnace in that trailer

Gotta love how Eddie is a decade behind with his 80's short shorts in the 90's. That was the joke with his clothes back then, just like his 70's leisure suit in the 80's Christmas Vacation movie.

At least Eddie's single-wide looks to be improved from the RV he had in Christmas Vacation.

Eddie's 10 funniest lines, I think "Don't you worry about radiation, Eddie?" "Nah, all I know is my teeth have never been whiter and my garden's sprouting out 50 lb tomatas" "I don't know why they call this stuff hamburger helper, it does just fine on its own" "Nice home you've got here, Eddie" "Yeah, but don't know for how much longer, the bank's been after me like flies on a ribroast" "Her eyes aren't crossed anymore, Eddie" "Yeah, who knows, she falls into a well, her eyes get crossed, she gets kicked by a mule, they go back to normal" "I can help you with some money, Clark, there's just one thing, (cuts to outside his trailer) I forgot where I buried it" "Clark, you know if you could uh, maybe spare a little?" "Sure Eddie, how much ya need?" "About $52,000" "Anyone ever tell you Eddie that you're bad luck?" "Those were my mother's dying words. But of course if your whole body is covered in 3rd degree burns and you've got your foot caught in a bear trap, you may start talkin a bit crazy" "Save the neck for me" "Shitter was full!!" "Enrollment to the jelly of the month club?" "Clark, that's the gift that just keeps on givin"
