I have watched alot of locking videos and most go so fast that I miss some of the main moves or do not do them as precise as they need to be done. This video breaks it down to every movement to a speed that the average first timer can follow. Very good video. Just what I have needed. I have tried to find a locking instructor where I live and have went to several advertised hip hop battles that specifically advertise that they also have locking included in their lineup with Popping, Breaking , House , and Krumping, but when I drive all the way to these battles , there is not ONE LOCKER IN THE HOUSE..I have even gone around to the various team instructors to see if they do any locking or know of anyone on their dance crews that lock that I might hook up with for private lessons. Always told No and no one knows anyone to refer me too. I come away disappointed that in a whole town that has all these various styles has not one Locking instructor that I can take lessons from. I really do not learn as well I don't think from a video, I need a real person that I can get the right feel and movements from. But I really want to learn so I will keep at it. So thanks for a video that breaks it completely down for us slow learners....

Not always. Depends on the move, style and song you’re dancing to!

Funk, soul, groove and rhythm always comes first. Just going on full out speed kills the heart of the dance, it kills the "Campell" part of Locking. Too many modern dancers focus soley on shooting out as many moves as possible and focus on "technical" perfection, and forget "why" we dance in the first place.
