@@tariqziyad8062 If we are talking athlete, Lebron is great but there are better. Speed, power, vertical, lateral movement, change of direction, balance, deceleration, etc.. Lebron for instance rates on all of these except lateral movement. Change of direction could be better but he is 6'8" and 260-280 so for his size he is still elite. (Talking in his prime not now.) Vince does not move laterally well either. As a result never was a great defender. Lebron has the same issue. This is why is an underperforming defender. He is not a bad defender, but nowhere near elite. TMAC for instance would rate better than on first step, lateral movement and likely vertical.. Lebron has more power(Strength) and flat out running speed.. but for basketball I'd take the athlete that TMAC or Jordan is 10 times out of 10 because their athletic attributes translate better. If you still think Lebron is the best athlete the only conclusion to make is he is a lazy defender... Chamberlain at his height is a freak. Shaq the same, but I understand if you put centres in their own category...

I politely disagree, Vince had springs when it comes to just pure jumping like those freakish volleyball players when they spike a ball (and Vince was a star volleyball player in HS) but when it comes to things like lateral movement and cutting to the basket he wasn't on the same level as young MJ. It's insane how low MJ would get driving to the basket and those shin angles and the way he would contort his body were simply unmatched.

@tobyncummins
@tobyncummins Ай бұрын
Vince wasn’t the contortionist Michael Jordan was... athleticism covers a broader spectrum and there’s a reason they never learnt to contain MJ yet they learnt to contain Vince. Yeah, he could jump high... yeah, the reverse 360 was sick. But angular adjustments, catlike agility and the ability to create something out of nothing? That’s Michael Jordan. Vince’s highlight moments always had an “I know what I’m about to do but you don’t know” kind of vibe, whereas Jordan it was like “ok, you gonna stop this move? Ok, I’ll do this move” kinda thing going on.

Man what are you talking about lol? Have you ever even seen Jordan do a 360 dunk at Alll. Let alone in the game. Jordan was that dude but it’s called evolution. Vince is a different level when it comes to basketball athleticism
@tobyncummins
@tobyncummins Ай бұрын
@@quentisbentley8629 you’re confusing party tricks with athleticism. A 360 is a learnt skill COMBINED with athleticism. Vince played most his career as a solid starter to role player because he simply didn’t have ‘it’ - the kind of athleticism that makes a player untouchable. MJ was faster, more agile, had quicker reflexes, and a greater separation ability. Vince was arguably a higher jumper but he bounded while Jordan pounced. The problem with bounders is they need coiling space to execute a move. Pouncers can execute from anywhere at any time. Jordan was the evolution of Carter, don’t get it twisted.
@quentisbentley8629
@quentisbentley8629 Ай бұрын
@ how was he the evolution of Vince and he came first 😂? Jordan ain’t no where near the most athletic nba player. He was for his time. Since him, there have been countless amount of players . Average role players like Gerald green are more athletic than Jordan . What made Jordan great was his fundamentals and a skill coupled with his athleticism but just pure athleticism, there are Point guards today more pathetic

@tobyncummins
@tobyncummins Ай бұрын
@@quentisbentley8629 contrary to your understanding of reality, evolution is not bound by time, it’s about transcendence. You don’t evolve from Michael Jordan to Vince Carter. You evolve from Vince Carter to Michael Jordan. Case in point: you don’t see people saying “This guy is the next Vince Carter!” - Oh no no no... it’s “This guy is the next Michael Jordan” - Michael Jordan is the destination. Vince Carter is a footnote in history. As for athleticism, you believe what you want to believe... I’ll continue knowing what I know. 😊

Ok so if Vince Carters best athlete explain why an old Jordan with bruised ribs, only 9 fingers and one leg shut down Vince Carter convincgly while MJ played on the Wizards??? Yall got to stop sayin ish off the cuff, if a prime VC couldnt handle a old disabled Jordan how can he be the best athlete??? Did VC ever win a championship at UNC? Oh not collegiate...so how many in the association did he get? Oh none either? Hm, not a very strong case for best athlete. Deion and Bo are two brothers who deserve to be put in that catagory and even MJ since by the words of his trainers and coaches in baseball he would have been a Major League player if the MLB never went on strike. What second sport did VC play? Keep it a buck and drop thr 🧢
