My brother was in an induced coma at the end of his battle with colon cancer. After 3 days vigil at his bedside I began to play a few songs from my phone on his pillow. This was the 4th song played and during the very last chord he took a deep breath and went home to be with the Lord. I know the timing was a direct witness from God to show me and those who hear this story that God is real. Keep the faith in peace and understanding.

My brother died of suicide in 1991. We had both witnessed our dad's suicide in 1957 when my brother was 3 and I was 7. This was devastating to me. When they committed these acts they both were 38 years old. Then I heard this song by Vince Gill. My dad and brother were both buried in our family cemetery on top of a hill in West Virginia. This song made me cry. I know the pain has to leave so the joy of the Lord comes in. My brother believed in God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost. I hope he went to heaven.

It's so damn hard being disabled since a kid and trying so hard to take care of them now. I just lost my grandma, my last grandparent. I have several other family with cancer. Lost so many school friends too. I'm tired of loosing friends, acquaintances and especially family. I pray in Jesus's name he come back and take us believers home long before they pass. 😭 I can't stand to loose any more.😔

I my name is sonja. I to have and my family have recently been the victims of losing a loved one due to sustance abuse and gun viloence. This has been a humungas tragedy in our lives. My family has literally came to a hault. They are literally falling a part. We lost the glue that held us all together. He left behind three sisters. All of us handling his death in so many different ways. Then my parents r both falling apart at the seams. Trying to take over as parents all over again because my father promised my brother before he took his last breath that he would take care of his kids. Mom has cancer her amune system is low. She is quick to get namonia. Swollen eyes coughing allergies, Arthritus, everything imaginable medically wrong with her that could possibly wrong with her, she has it. My dad fighting his own demands. Everybody tryin to mask the with some sort of addiction or another. We are all struggling to put the pieces back together one day at a time. Anybody out there have any useful advice in order to help my family.

I lost my daughter 16 years old to suicide in 2016. It was a good punch from life. She was a Mini-Me, I loved her unconditionally and I still do. It's so hard now not to be bitter but me and God worked it out. I'm so sorry to hear about your son. Anything you can do to cope that doesn't hurt you or anybody else is a good thing. Tears are flowing while I try to write this. My mother raised me as a single parent in the 50s and 60s. She worked in a cotton mill for 8 hours a day and still found time to be a wonderful parent. The 1st time I ever heard this song, I was 8. My grandma was telling my mom she heard the most beautiful song, on the radio... & that she wished she knew what it was..I heard her say, it talked about “resting on a mountain”. Back then, tapes were how we listened to, purchased music. The next day, I went to Walmart with my dad & mom. I went to the tapes, and started looking at every single one they had, looking for a song title, with mountain..It was time to go, I asked my dad, if I could look just a little longer..I found it! I remember my daddy telling me- “Hita, do you know why you found it?” I said, “no?” He said, “your faith”..I couldn’t wait to give it to my grandma..While I wasn’t exactly sure, it was the song, I really felt it was...(I was right). I lost my grandma at 17 & I always thought of her when hearing it. I lost my dad in 2013. The lyrics, hit hard. (Both my grandma & him) It’s very painful to listen to it now.. but on some days, it brings me peace. 2:39, the way the bass hits, I visualize my dad walking with God, when the bass hits- it’s a footstep.. Its loud & hits hard, Bc they’re above the world , in heaven, larger than us. Anyone who is here, probably has a reason for this song.. So I pray that god gives you the peace & comfort, you need right now..(we all do) Even though we miss our loved ones, and it’s beyond painful- we are the only ones suffering, Bc they’re exactly where they deserve to be..in a better place. I've always loved country music...whether it's Gospel, Country Rock....anything country (yes....even Willy Nelson)! In my family....we were 4 siblings....all 1 year apart! My brother Frank and I were the closest as were 11 months apart!!! He was my hero!!! We were a bonded pair!! He was a country music lover who always sang and played guitar around the campfire, in the house....anywhere he found solitude!! He was self taught...never had one lesson and no one, not even my father, played guitar! He just watched others play and picked it up! Frank passed away 3 years ago from a rare brain cancer! He was given 3 months to live but fought really hard and passed 5 months after being diagnosed!! While watching Country Throwback videos on TV....this exact video came on!!! I put the volume as high as it would go and cried my eyes out! Not only was I still grieving....I recognized that it was a sign from Frank that he's still watching over me!!! Ibfelt sad and blessed at the same time! Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent with the world Vince Gill!!!!!

i’m a 13 year old boy, and my family and i just got the news that my grandpa has stage 4 pancreatic cancer. he’s been battling for a whole year now, at first it was stage 2. but when the doctors went in to remove it, it had spread to stage 4. they gave him 6-9 months using chemo. i don’t know what i could do without him, he’s my best friend. i love you so much pa!!

@@sriley53sr Thank you. Something random. I was hoping to view my mum at the funeral directors but due to arranging the celebration of life after the cremation I couldn't make it. I was upset at the time but on reflection, seeing her and saying goodbye to her with all her family around her on the day she died is a lot more important. She died of old age, Alzheimer's and diabetes. I remember the first thing that happened was that she wet herself and she cried and said that she was so ashamed to do that in front of me. I told her not to be silly. From then on the mother that I knew slowly died. At the end she was bed ridden and in so much pain I guess her body decided enough was enough. I miss her so much but at the same time am glad that she isn't suffering anymore. Dad is heart broken but the family is rallying around him (I'm so proud of us). Looking after mum has taken so much out of dad it's crazy, but I don't think he would have it any other way. Dad married mum in 1962 and they raised three sons, one daughter and a nephew (I love you like a brother Norman). She also fostered many kids, though I thought it strange at the time that these random kids would be staying at the house, here today and gone tomorrow. I never appreciated how hard life was for her and dad (and just got on with it and then some) but raising a family of my own I do now. Thank you mum for all you've done to make me who I am and for giving me a wonderful and loving childhood and an awesome family. I love you so much. I miss you mum. Thank you so much. I'll always love you.

Hi grandpa, this is the 8th year that I pay a visit to your grave. Every year I come here I've grown since the year before and each time I have less memories of when you were alive. The whole feeling of seeing that snowy grave in the dark with a lit candle inside a lantern with some flowers around it and then see your name on it truly gives me a sence of emptiness inside.
