The clip from the Dark Side Brawl-for-All says it all. Russo's attitude (as someone who had no experience in the business but got into a position of power) was "It's just wrestling, bro". Meanwhile, Corny lived and breathed the business all his life - it was his baby - and someone decided to shit in the baby's mouth in multiple ways with impunity, then went to WCW... and we all know how that ended.

If you ever saw some of Russo's promos in early TNA, he was actually great and was incredible at getting heat. We already know how unbelievable Cornette was on the mic. WWF was struggling in the mid-90s while Cornette was writing the shows with McMahon. Russo was editing the magazine and pitched McMahon on a change of direction towards the "Crash TV" style that became the Attitude Era. Cornette's writing style and Russo's writing style were incompatible, McMahon had to pick one and commit to it. He chose Russo. Cornette is still bitter about it.

Jim is strictly wrestling and story telling, along with building stories and feuds, with a big payout at a Pay Per View. Jim Ross said it best: “Vince Russo is the sizzle, Jim Cornette is the steak.” Also, Jim has said it best: “We are two polar opposites: he’s a Northerner, I’m a Southerner, he hates wrestling, I love wrestling, if one of us was a black lesbian nun, it’d be all put together.” Also, Russo has said multiple times that he “hates the wrestling business.” and has begged people for a job.
