Vince Staples is 100% right. You can't talk about generational wealth when these dudes not even taking the idea of family serious, on top of having bad spending habits.

The whole idea of artists feeling like their art should pay for their grandkids to never work is just ridiculous imo. In any genre of art or music. Good for them if it does but we gotta look at how much we pay these people in general.

Well yea I suppose that’s true, I just see no need for comments to weigh in on his intelligence based on THIS clip where they discussing industry issues, but w/ no real solution to them yet. And I think generational wealth is a non-issue and a vain pursuit. We have no control over how the next generation will handle the wealth even if we did hand it to them on a silver platter, but I digress there.

I agree with both. Our mentality of for sure wiped out. Also, they are clearly miss using the payout. I believe they go hand and hand. But to Vince’s point, if they pay’d the artist what they owed them and all the coins went to the artist, will the artist actually know what to do with the funds to help the rest of the slaves abs family members globally?

I just became a fan. Vince said to be able to send your children to a school where you do not have to be fly everyday. Me leaving Brooklyn NY and bringing my children to a place where they can get there white air force 1's a little dirty saved us money. Also, on another note you do not need 1 million dollars to start generational wealth. It all come down to investing most of your money.

Labels and music industry did fine before 360s. And they do fine with their artists who are not on 360s (like Drake). They extort artists into thinking what Vince is saying. Vince makes sense, but it's extortion to say "give us a piece of touring or else..." even though Live Nation still gon' get their piece of Touring also...

Man if a take a artist who isn’t visible everywhere and invest in them before they start making any real money then I should get to participate in all revenue associated with your brand since I helped build it. They are investing and being relationships to the table so that more money can be made all around. It’s not extortion
@theyoungcommander

@@PlatinumPAT But they only invest in one area... They're investing in their music careers, not their touring. Live Nation does that-- they start by booking small shows then bigger ones. The labels don't invest in their acting careers, yet they would still get paid if the artist became an actor. It'd be like the NBA saying "we invested in making you famous by putting you on your platform, we want a piece of your sponsorships..."

They did because they were selling physical albums now with streaming labels are not seeing the type of money they previsouly saw unless they can market artist in different avenues…Theres a reason Rihanna hasn’t dropped an album since lord knows music is not as profitable as a business anymore
