@differentbutsimilar78935 ай бұрын
@@nalassiereacts They were referring to how people see an older person who's been in a thing for a while and attach wisdom to that, when it's actually not wise to assume that someone is wise because they are older and doing something. Joe is the picture of that. Older guy, longstanding figure in the hip-hop world... LAST person to take ANY advice from. Presuming wisdom based on superficial stuff is usually a mistake. You see someone's been around a minute and think they might know something, but if you knew their life, that might change. Knowing nothing about Budden would have you thinking he's one of the old masters of this media - and to be fair, he does know things. But when you actually hear him speak, or talk about his own decisions, or his own life... his wisdom is lacking for someone his age. It's relevant because Budden often projects THAT image... because he acts like a wise, media father figure when so much to do with him has been a mess for like 2 decades and he becomes a teenage drama queen when things don't go his way. The older you are while only showing a superficial understanding of how other people work, the more obvious it becomes that that is the truth. Joe Budden is a child in an aging man's body. It's relevant to just about everything he does lol

Just speaking so much truth. Respect Vince so much. I remember when Kendrick bought his sister as Toyota as a graduation gift and they went after him.

I agree with both. Our mentality of for sure wiped out. Also, they are clearly miss using the payout. I believe they go hand and hand. But to Vince’s point, if they pay’d the artist what they owed them and all the coins went to the artist, will the artist actually know what to do with the funds to help the rest of the slaves abs family members globally?

I don’t know Vince Staples or his music. But that dood is SMART. now I gotta check for his music.

It’s wild that an artist can abuse drugs, kill opps, and f*** h**s on every track and the fans are happy but loving your spouse on every track is corny. These are real people. If their lyrics aren’t evolving, we should be concerned, especially if they have spouses and kids. Them politicians might’ve had a point about violent and raunchy music ruining our minds.

This is a false narrative, Chance BEEN corny

As you get older you realize why they market to such young minds and set narratives to make them think i certian way..im 28 and realized their bullshit over a decade ago..

Vince is too smart for this industry he could genuinely be whatever he wants to be

Everyone is really defending Vince but he also made some points that weren’t a direct response to what Joe was trying to point out. I think they both have good points but the conversation literally went in a tangent. It derailed from music business and started talking about culture. That’s not what Joe was trying to point out.

Coz its the difference between realistic and ideal. The difference between where we are now and where we want to be. You don't fight wars with what you wish you had.

Art is art. A lot of classic artists of any style/genre died broke but died doing what they loved. Vivian Meier is a great example.

Glad someone that knows about the music business came by to show Joe how his views don't make sense. 360 deals don't hurt generational wealth. Artist throw their money away and that's the problem
@krustykrabpizza4328 Жыл бұрын
360s are bad but it could be a lot less fucked if people prioritized smart financial skills and saving for the future instead of being pushed to look like the next Lil Baby
