My brother was in an induced coma at the end of his battle with colon cancer. After 3 days vigil at his bedside I began to play a few songs from my phone on his pillow. This was the 4th song played and during the very last chord he took a deep breath and went home to be with the Lord. I know the timing was a direct witness from God to show me and those who hear this story that God is real. Keep the faith in peace and understanding.

My grandma, or Memaw as I called her, passed away yesterday, 6/18/24. The night before, we had a mix of Jesus music playing on her tv so her room would be filled with the presence of the Lord as she prepared to go home. I left the room for a few minutes, and when I came back, this song started. I instantly fell to my knees by her bed and just sobbed as I held her hand. This will always be my song for her. Have 3 friends that we're all singers. Done the barber shop quartet thing many times. We have a standing prpmise. So long as 2 or more of us are left, they will sing this at the service. Same with fallen family members. Last one was 2 days ago, for our tenor's son. It's a wonderful tribute to a fallen country singer, and it nakes for a beautiful send off to a loved one.

My brother died of suicide in 1991. We had both witnessed our dad's suicide in 1957 when my brother was 3 and I was 7. This was devastating to me. When they committed these acts they both were 38 years old. Then I heard this song by Vince Gill. My dad and brother were both buried in our family cemetery on top of a hill in West Virginia. This song made me cry. I know the pain has to leave so the joy of the Lord comes in. My brother believed in God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost. I hope he went to heaven.

I served 25 years in the Army & I can't believe it's been almost 20 years since I was medically retired due to injuries on deployment. We become close & have a bond that defies description. I've always loved country music...whether it's Gospel, Country Rock....anything country (yes....even Willy Nelson)! In my family....we were 4 siblings....all 1 year apart! My brother Frank and I were the closest as were 11 months apart!!! He was my hero!!! We were a bonded pair!! He was a country music lover who always sang and played guitar around the campfire, in the house....anywhere he found solitude!! He was self taught...never had one lesson and no one, not even my father, played guitar! He just watched others play and picked it up! Frank passed away 3 years ago from a rare brain cancer! He was given 3 months to live but fought really hard and passed 5 months after being diagnosed!! While watching Country Throwback videos on TV....this exact video came on!!! I put the volume as high as it would go and cried my eyes out! Not only was I still grieving....I recognized that it was a sign from Frank that he's still watching over me!!! Ibfelt sad and blessed at the same time! Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent with the world Vince Gill!!!!!

Tears are flowing while I try to write this. My mother raised me as a single parent in the 50s and 60s. She worked in a cotton mill for 8 hours a day and still found time to be a wonderful parent. She passed away several years ago after battling cancer and this song describes her life perfectly. She is resting now after a life of hard times. God bless her and those like her!!

He isn't underrated in my estimation. We've seen him in concert several times and he has no equal. Triple threat: one of the finest voices, one of the finest guitarists, cannot write a bad song. We just watched him sing this song on the National Memorial Day Concert on PBS. Vince Gill is one of the all-time greats. Underrate him at your peril.

Gives me goose bumps. One of the best songs ever written, and Vince Gill's rendition is absolutely incredible. So much passion, love, and healing is felt with each time I listen to this. I have heard VG sing this in person and this song is not anywhere as good as that, it says a lot about his singing. After his concert, I cried all night long.
