Tori and Vincent was a missed opportunity for real character growth...Tori should have been a regular character and explored the beast side of the both of them. They could have come to understand why they were so attracted in the beginning and become friends after learning to control it. The whole thing about amplifying each other could have been really cool and they could have kicked ass together platonicly or romanticly I didn't mind. Given the opportunity he always choose someone else over Catherine

I disagree with you about Vincent "always choosing someone else over Catherine", he went with Alex for a brief while because she was his fiance and a past that he avoided for many years, he went with her because he felt bad for abandoning her so many years ago and wanted to make up for leaving her so many years ago even though by that time he had already fallen in love with Catherine, but then he soon realised that Catherine is the one he loves and wants to be with so he went back to Catherine. He never had any feelings for Tori, with Tori they were "attracted" to each other simply on a primal level since they're both beasts, and don't forget that Vincent had his memories erased and at the time he was still trying to regain his memories, and trying to reconnect with Catherine, then Tori came along. He became easily swayed by Tori at the time not only because they were both beasts but also because he still had not fully regained all of his memories yet and because he was mad at Catherine for shooting him. But Vincent's heart was always with Catherine, he never stopped loving her, Catherine is the one that he truly loves and he always risked his life to protect her. And he admitted that he had made a mistake by choosing his beast side and Tori. Even during the period when they were separated and he was "with" Tori, Vincent still always went back to Catherine, he could never stay away from her. Both Alex and Tori were obstacles for VinCat for a while and in the long run it made them stronger together. There's no one in the world Vincent loves more than Catherine.

@@iamlinda100 Yes. I understand how things actually played out. I just believe the character Tori could have been written better. There were glimmers within her few episodes that showed that the relationship between Vincent and Tori could have really developed. I like aspects of Catherine and Vincent but really she was just the first woman to see him as he is and not run away. What really ties them together? Nothing. Tori and Vincent in my opinion were more interesting. I also see your point as welp

What ties Vincent and Catherine together is their deep understanding and love and acceptance of each other, that's why their lovestory is so strong, they accept and love all of each other completely . And also because of their ancestors Rebecca and Alistair, Catherine and Vincent were meant to be together from the start, it was not just a coincidence that Vincent saved Cat that night and they met each other again 10 years later, they were the descendants of Rebecca & Alistair, they were destined to be together. The only thing that tied Vincent with Tori together was the fact that they were both beasts, that's all. If Tori was not a beast then Vincent never would've gone with Tori and he never would've had anything to do with her at all. Tori was able to affect Vincent on a primal level, but it was never a love connection between them, just a primal attraction. With Catherine it was true love, Cat was Vincent's humanity, she was the one who always kept him sane, but I think after Cat shot him, it really affected him and it made things easier for Tori to influence him and for a while he gave into his beast side, and thus he seemingly "chose" Tori for a while, they thought they were the only beasts left in the world so they chose to stick together. But then Vincent realised that he had made the wrong choice by choosing his beast side & Tori, and that he should've chosen his humanity & Cat, since he never stopped loving Cat, and because Tori died and other people got hurt because of his mistake.

I am only stating I wish that they had written a human side to Tori as well as her primal side. I saw the chemistry between Tori and Vincent and wished they had been written differently. Catherine and Vincents love is beautiful but I thought it would be more interesting to have him fall in love with the only female beast especially since she amplfies his power. But again I respect your opinion and time you took writing all this.

of course you are entitled to your own opinion, I'm actually glad that the writers didn't go far with Vincent & Tori's relationship, not just because this show is called 'Beauty & the Beast' and the relationship between Vincent & Catherine is the most important part of the show. But also because Catherine is Vincent's humanity, like I said before, she's the one who keeps him sane, everytime Vincent beasts out it's always Catherine who always stabilizes him and brings him back to humanity and thus prevents him from crossing that primal line. Whereas Tori being a beast, she affects Vincent in the opposite way, unlike Cat, Tori enhanced Vincent's beast side, thus she was pulling him closer to crossing that primal line when he was with her. Which is why Tori was a dangerous influence for Vincent, and you saw how destructive Vincent and his life became when he gave into his beast side, Tori got killed, his bestfriend J.T almost got killed too and he put Cat in danger also. And Vincent realised that choosing his beast side & Tori was a mistake, so many bad things would've been prevented if he never went with Tori and had followed his heart and chosen his humanity/Cat instead. One of the main themes of this show was Vincent's constant struggles to balance his humanity with his beast side so he doesn't cross that primal line and become an out of control beast. For a long time all Vincent wanted was to be human again, or as close to being human as possible, and Tori amplifying his beast power was the opposite of what he wanted. But for a while he was under Tori's influence and it took a while for Vincent to realise his mistake. And the writers wanted to show how Cat and Tori both were able to influence Vincent differently, they were like the angel and the devil respectively in his mind. Tori was never suppose to be a serious love interest for Vincent, she was mainly just a plot device to show how another beast could influence him in a dangerous way. But ultimately he was able to regain his humanity through his interactions with Cat, VinCat's undying love for each other was what brought them back together.

Truth be told I didn't have a problem with Vincent ripping out dude's heart. If the guy didn't beast out in kill mode, he wouldn't have gotten killed himself. I feel like Catherine gets unfairly self-righteous with Vincent. Yes, she should encourage him to be as humane as possible even in beast mode but he IS both man and beast. I feel like he has valid excuse if he "slips up" sometimes with these other bad guys. Stop nagging, Cat.

+Serenity Ann You can only feel that hurt if you really love that person. Gabe was a bad rebound that the writers put in the series. Did you forget he held a gun on Catherine, he was willing to kill Vincent to save himself, he killed Ray and the witness when he was not a beast, he did not care that Vincent might kill his girlfriend, he lied to Tess about Vincent killing Tori's dad, he always thought he was smarter than anyone else, the writers let him control Catherine from the independent, strong willed woman in the beginning of the series. Oh, he also attacked her at the end of Season 1. The first woman was his first love, unfinished business. But Tori was baggage that he inherited. Vincent became more beast with her in the picture. Just something else to keep them apart.
