Any tips for a small independent dealer to help my cars sell at auction? I don't take much to auction but when I do, I go with the mind set that the car will sell that day no matter what. I run them green light with good numbers in good lanes and struggle to get the auction to get me a bid, and announce anything like a check engine light trying to disclose any issues and be honest. Sometimes I can't get real bids because the auction is searching for bids with fake offers, it drives me nuts. I tell them to get money and still nothing at times. I agree with the mentality that I should sell it on the first run so that buyers will know I am there to sell. I also agree with buyer fatigue and I don't even bother messing with dealers that don't have high sell percentage. Any tips would be appreciated.

So hard to bring the money because so many dealers ( new and used) think that Indys only sell bad cars at the auction. Yet every one has got a bad car from new car stores.

This is so very common and I can give you my personal, local experience and hope you gain insight…. What you experience is a very common issue that happens everywhere! The answer is in the question. “Small, independent”… This happens at all auctions. My suggestion is to either have a friend, or make a friend who can run them under a larger, more well established BRAND. Work out some type of fee per car, and just let them run your units and sit back and watch. If you agree with the sell it no matter what.. shouldn’t be issues. More well known sellers get more bids.. higher bids…it’s fact. Your care will sell for more, which will easily pay the fee to whoever you can sign up to run your units.

Find a large wholesaler/remarketer (with a good reputation) who will run your car in their lane for a fee. The bigger wholesalers are probably running franchise trade-ins mixed in with their own units and independent's cars. They get more eyeballs on the units = higher bids. You may also get discounts on transport fees and sell fees because of the volume the wholesaler/remarketer is doing.
