I love how at 0:27-0:32 Mario sports a different color palette for each Mario game. The fact that the creator went that extra mile for something most people would probably miss (I didn't catch it myself until subsequent viewings) is a testament to the thought and effort put into this.

0:31 actually in the backstory of what actually happened, according to the canonical storyline of Super Mario Land 2, Wario sent Tatanga (SML1 final boss) to kidnap Princess Daisy as a way to get Mario away from his castle so he could steal it, which is why in SML2, Wario has taken over Mario's castle, because he stole it while Mario was busy saving Princess Daisy in SML1
