The fascinating thing is how much of the translation is _technically_ the right words, but it's still incorrect. "Tackle" becomes "Bump," "Growl" becomes "Yell," and "Water Gun" somehow has the word "water" removed, which is an important distinction. Also, fun fact: the "lass" trainer class was originally called "miniskirt" in Japan, so that translation is actually spot on.

movezig5 can't agree more. As a HongKonger who is fluent in both English, Mandarin and Cantonese, some of them are really accurate to me like "bump" as you mentioned, and "brain games!!" (You need brains to play the GameCube. 😉😉). Also, they changed some names that are pretty intriguing. Like Littleroot» TianYuan, which makes sense as it is "Sky Garden". And did they change Mossdeep into King Water? (King Shui) it still makes sense. Since Mossdeep is Team Aqua's hideout...... Some of them are really funny tho. The names are not really accurate. How is Treecko a frog? They should at least name it: Gecko. 🤣🤣🤣
