It's also interpreted as "if a gun is introduced in the scene, it must go off". Basically, if you bring the audience's attention to a specific prop, then the characters will need to use it in some way. I personally like a drink tray as an example, because "they must use it" doesn't necessarily mean as a weapon. If a drink tray is introduced in a scene, sure you can use the items on it as projectiles or bludgeons, shove it against someone in a chase scene, but the character may simply pour themselves a drink to provide the scene a certain tone, not even poison themselves, "the Dude making himself a white russian" kind of a scene.

I dodn't rxpect The Vending Machine to be such a prominent character in season two. With this kind of power level they can become the main villain of the series. And since in Japan there are more vending machines than people... I don't know where I was going with this. Just watch your back, or the vendiong machine can strike at any moment.
