Green Room is a proper horror movie and its modern. It's more of a gory thriller but if you put yourself in the perspective of the characters, you'll enjoy it a lot if you want a good scare.

Cal Theatre You reckon? I don't know, I can definitely see where you're coming from but a lot of the time when I watch movies I try to put myself in the shoes of the characters. I did media studies for a few years back in high school and they told us to critique every little detail, it made everything unwatchable cause I started seeing all the little details that broke the immersion. Green room was a film that I really liked because I thought about it for a bit and decided that in their situation, I'd be fucked haha. Sometimes in crazy scenarios, you have to become crazy yourself to survive, I think Green room did a good job at exaggerating that. It was hilarious at certain points though, I loved it

The Witch is pretty good. I'm not much of a movie person but I loved that movie when I saw it in theaters. A real slow burn for most of it but a really engaging and atmospheric film. I don't run in any movie circles so I dunno if it's considered overrated or anything but I enjoyed the hell out of it.

If you listen closely to Binyot you can sometimes hear his breathing get really staggered/fast when he comes across a spook boy. He tries to play it off by talking after but I can hear him getting scared. Really hope he finishes the game

Vinny this game is worth playing the entire trilogy. The mistake people make in identifying Dead Space 3 as trash is also a change in gameplay due to your main character's experience with the horrors that await you. The story and universe for this game is strikingly amazing, consider investing in the trilogy 1-3. Hey Vinny, idk if you will read this but as someone who loves he Dead Space series, Including 3, I thought I give my view. 1 Is a classic masterpiece, maybe a few janky stuff cause it's like a decade old. 2 is also a really good game, in my opinion better than 1 but that's probably because it was my first and it's more sleeker and felt less clunky, and I will say I does become more action-y but it still very atmospheric. 3, in my opinion, is a big schlocky mess; it's a great co-op game(which is a thing in 3) and the custom weaponsmithing is really fun, its the RE5 of the series, and it had some bad/funny lines, but It doesn't reach "headbutting bolders" level of schlock(not like that's a bad thing) but its still a fun game if you take it as a third person shooter instead of a survival horror like EA probably marketed it.

Dead Space 3 is arguably the best in the series. It depends on if you're really interested in the story and lore, and want more versatility with weapons and enemy placement. Unfortunately once you reach the 2/3rds of a ways through the game, it loses all it's survival aspects. You never need to worry about ammo or health (unless you play on Survival mode, and even then, you can fill your inventory to the max after a certain point), and can mow down anything that gets in your way. Regardless, the horror is top-notch the further you get in the story, much better than Dead Space 2 at least. Fuck playing Co-op and don't buy any of the DLC, except Awakening, but ONLY if you're interested in the story. I love the game, but it's really bad DLC.

There was a period there from 2008-2012 where EA was objectively at their best. Mass Effect, Dead Space, and Battlefield were at their franchise high points, and executive meddling was at it's lowest. Then the shareholders happened. Now they don't take risks. They want to maximize earnings at the cost of fun. And instead of wisely reusing the Madden and FIFA money on original IP, they're making failed Star Wars games as a third leg for their profit stream. EA's upper management is out of touch with what's fun, and the delusion of nostalgia.

Even as I played through the hardest difficulty, I already knew the game well, and there was no way to recreate that paranoia you get the first time, trying to conserve ammo, not knowing what's gonna come at you.

But they have control over these companies and if the devs don't listen to what EA says they lose but if they they do they still lose. Related to this is what happened to Visceral, they didn't want to make dead space more action. Dead Space 3 had an unrealistic goal to sell 5 million copies, more then both previous games combined and if they didn't reach it? RIP Visceral. If you've played dead space 3 you know it's sub par at best but play the dlc for it becauce the devs were given creative freedom and its way better.

Nah tbh the music is pretty annoying. The game can be just as scary if not more without it due to being able to hear ambient noises, necromorph screaming, etc.. The strings, while adding to the scare factor in some ways, makes it feel really forced. At least to me.

VINNY FOR THE LOVE OF GOD Yes, it's a garbage port to the point of unplayability. Do these and you're solid -Turn off in-game Vsync -Turn on V-sync on your nvidia driver control panel -Cap the game at 60 fps Do this or the physics WILL go haywire to the point of doors not working and enemies bugging out. Otherwise, have fun with the game!

Interestingly, Dead Space originally started out as a follow-up to System Shock 2, but EA and Visceral dropped it and retooled what was built to become Dead Space. The success of RE4 and difficulties in clearing the rights to System Shock drove them to that decision. I'd say it all worked out in the end.

Two is one of the best survival horror shooters in a lot of ways, and it was still decently scary at some points (mostly the DS1 homage chapter). 3 while being mechanically watered down and even more action-y was still pretty good. Some of the better parts are unfortunately co-op exclusive where each player sees different things going on around them or even enemies the other couldn't. The DLC was the best part of 3, even though they completely blue ball us for a sequel that will now never happen with a cliffhanger ending.

Whoever said Dead Space 2 goes to straight action is just flat out wrong. It tries to be more horror like. The atmosphere is visually much darker, the hallucinations are terrifying, and alot of the new enemies are scarier then the first. Also, the 3rd Dead Space isnt bad. Its just a bad horror game. Its still enjoyable if you like action. Plus, the weapon customization is a blast. But after the spoopy space part, it becomes an action game

Everyone understands that in a proper combat situation it would be useless, but if you have to, lets say, use it against a crowd of unarmed people, trying to riot or something, it would probably do wonders. In DS2 it's removed, but that game has a "riot" suit that increases damage of the Contact Beam that has an alt fire mode that is awfully similar to that of a pulse rifle from DS1 when you consider what it's affinity with a riot suit implies.

I remember playing Dead Space for the first time. I did it on a stream for friends, so I wouldn't feel as tense. Nope, didn't help. I loved, hated, loathed, and feared Dead Space. Great game.

The Deadspace series changes from horror to action as Issac gets more used to fighting these abominations. By the third Deadspace he's so used to the necromorphs it's just become routine. But also EA.
