Former animator on New Bob here. It was my first industry job. During the Christmas I worked on it, the team I was on was down to three artists crunching into the night and the supervisor was absent dealing with an insurance lawsuit. Directors judged me for falling asleep during a meeting that literally stopped dead at its tracks for 40 minutes. Clients reviewed one episode's work and responded to the effect of "these wankers don't know what they're doing!" My worst experiences came from my earliest jobs. By now, after the Sausage Party allegations at another studio, most places I work in are more aware and understanding of the well being of artists.
@DrNotnert

Actual Devin chat moment. Glad to hear that animators are actually starting to be treated like humans these days though. What was it like animating for New Bob? Did you care for the show, or was it just another job?
@knoxrobbins
@knoxrobbins Жыл бұрын
@@DrNotnert At the end of the day it was a preschool show, it was what it was. I learned a lot thru that first job and there were plenty of animators and few directors on that project who were good working with. It's easy to reflect on what went wrong and how not to introduce experience to an artist who needed it.

@@HamazuraGODanimators put through crunch for the masterpiece (I kid) Sausage Party. That's what I remember about it, anyway.
@knoxrobbins
@knoxrobbins Жыл бұрын
@@HamazuraGOD Short version: Sausage Party was in production at another company the same time I was animating New Bob. The stories I hear varies from good to bad experiences, but the owner of the studio was also the co-director and from what I understand was taking out his frustrations on some animators - including intimidation and blacklist threats. What is confirmed is that the studio used a "high tech exclusion" (it was created for tech companies) to loophole out of paying animators overtime. The studio I did New Bob in and other animation companies were also using the exclusion at the time. Years after, the BC provincial and Canadian government branches ruled that animators are exempt from the exclusion and are entitled to overtime pay.

It might be like how its important to give babies toys that respond to their actions (make noise, move, etc.), to give them confidence in their ability to affect things. Off topic but Vinny is gonna have to go back to tomodachi and release Peewee like David Bowie... Ok on a less dumb and real note it was unbelievable to hear he passed away. I have a lot of funny memories of watching his show on adult swim, seeing the movies, and catching his dream to fly one weird night at a hotel. Then as for vinesauce I think of Vinny throwing the doll out the window. Rest in peace. Anyway seeing some of these characters again unearth some long memories.

1) I sure do love edutainment games. Somehow brings me weird nostalgia even if I haven't played any of these. 2) I sure as heck didn't expect Vinny to try and speak German. As someone who speaks the language myself it was hilarious. And 3) "Just Grandma and Me" isn't actually from 2002. I didn't even have to look that up to know. I figured that out thanks to the German spelling of "dass" which was still spelled as "daß" meaning this came out before 1996. Just a random trivia fun fact for whoever wants to use it.

Oh wow, I didn't have the other games in this segment, but I did have that Land Before Time one. I remember playing that and the activity center one he checked out before; the storybook part was just so-so but I know I used to play the minigames (especially the fossil one Vinny unlocked; it's a hidden object game) a ton. One of the later minigames was assembling dinosaur skeletons and you had to identify what the dinosaur was- for a dinosaur-obsessed child it was really cool. Out of the two, I think I preferred the activity center (I remember my mom had to call some hotline in order to activate the full version of the software for me, good lord I feel old).

Youre a kid and you can occupy yourself for hours by repeatedly clicking dumb boopin' and boppin' characters to make them dance and watch flowers, I dunno, spin or some shit. At the very least you can generate streaming content by observing the effort that went into these early semblances of games. Dude just clicked "next page" and missed all of it then complained about how it doesn't hold his attention. You missed all the fuckin stupid songs!!

Oh no I recognize that Arthur game from the deep recesses of my mind. I remember that coliseum "minesweeper" find Pal game. Also Mr. Ratburn's quiz show (those contestants podiums were very memorable and the celebration robot!). And that pyramid! Holy cow I remember more of that game the more I see it.

Wait, since George Lucas was an executive producer of "The Land Before Time," does that mean Disney now owns a fraction of it?

I admit, the years have been kind to Little Critter's grandmother. But when I want furry GILFs, I go with the works of Zed_technician.

Binny, please play Preschool games in foreign language ( Like Przygody Reksia games - Jacexdowoz was playing it when he was doing a twitch raid on Jerma one day. ) , to fully experience the vibe of being a little kid in front of PC , please.

If you're going to give Vincent Edutainment games why aren't you giving him Dinosaur Adventure 3-D (Anniversary Edition) and 3-D Dinosaur Adventure. And also 3-D Dinosaur Adventure Painting. And more Land Before Time. What the fuck do you mean "I'm biased"

For those curious, no, Francine isn't a genius in the Arthur series. She's just kinda normal, but Buster and Muffy are both stupid.
