If you decide to stream Barony again, I'd like to ask that you try the "Quality of Death" beta, which has a far better user interface than you get with the standard version of the game. i like the very minimalistic ui of the current version alot more and its alot faster to find what im looking for and to start a game. My biggest gripe with the QoD beta UI is the whole character creation process is now in multiple sub menus that i keep clicking on the wrong aspect i want to change, race and class, but everything else looks nice and the added animations to rats and slimes is nice.

​@@goldchris1111 Every change was done to support major new features added with the beta. Character attributes were placed in submenus to unify the lobby with character creation. This allows players to simultaneously modify their characters while also viewing other players' characters in progress. The compact layout of the cards was also necessary to support split-screen. With the old layout, you are not able to make any changes to your character without leaving the lobby, and every character attribute had to be chosen in sequence, which would be very impractical for splitscreen up to 4 players.

I can't believe my eyes, Vinny from Vinesauce playing [BARONY]! I never would have thought that he would be into such a niche game like [BARONY]. But it just goes to show that you never know someone's true interests until you see them in action. I'm excited to see more of Vinny's [BARONY] gameplay in the future. [BARONY] is such an underrated game!

So fun fact, Barony is getting an update very soon that pretty much overhauls a lot of the game, and it's really cool stuff! You can play the beta of it right now. They're calling it the Quality of Death update. It's also getting a switch port soon as well.

Hey Vinny, if you give Barony another shot, I highly recommend loading up the beta branch on the upcoming update. It's almost 100% and adds a whole lot of new features, in addition to a spiffier UI. It's really good! I love this game. Fifty boulder traps after.

The sound effects, holding attack to charge up a bigger swing, not being able to identify potions at first... This seems like the spiritual successor to Legend of Dungeon. That game was so fun and had such a calm, but hectic vibe to it, and this is kinda like that game but in first person. I wonder if they were inspired by LoD?

I use to play this game with my nephew, I remember those times fondly but then I actually forgot the name of it. I couldn't find it when I searched 'pixel rouge-like'. I'm glad to be reminded of those good times and see Vinny enjoy it with his friends too.

I played Barony after enjoying Delver (A different pixel art dungeon crawler that I found cause Vinny played it years ago). Now Vinny is playing Barony it feels like things came full circle.

@@nolzstwynkievicz Pixel dungeon is just a super simple rogue like. IMO if I had to say what "the best" mainstream roguelike were it would probably be Angband or ToME. Again at least in reference to the big names. Stuff like Elona, Temple of Torment, Stone Soup, and Zorbus also get props though. Also Low Magic Age, but that's like a SUPER HARDCORE CRPG NERD game.

I was enjoying my time with this game and with my friends then *BAM* vinny plays barony. This is the outdated version btw and you probably want someone with a class like a merchant for high appraisal stats. And *always* *keep* appraising

I believe right now the new “QoL” build is an opt-in beta in steam. It works with multiplayer as along as every player is on the same beta build. It is 100% worth using the new update - it adds a ton of great UI changes and other convenient features.

so vinny as somebody that has played this game and unlocked all the dlc classes aka finishing the game waaaaay to many times, first of all you want to keep hunger on putting this off no longer gives you autoregen and you have to heal by eating food wich is worse then it sounds, second of all skeletons can befriend zombies and you had friendly fire off so you cant hurt em by default just right click em and they are your follower (cant recruit skellys tho) as a monsters you can throw booze at humans to make em drunk and follow you (this doesnt include the shopkeeper). Vampire is one of the most busted species int he game since they start of whit float just spam f aloooot of time until your mana runs out rince and repeat and you will have 2 maxed stats giving you dimination and spell that costs absolutly no mana to fire, if you max out swimming you can walk on water. For the robot they can eat pretty much anything but you wanna give em the gems since they overheat whit it and this is handy in general for areas whit water (as they cool down because of water) aka get hungry but it doesnt count as hunger either). These are some tips but there is honestly waaay to much to put everything in 1 comment, but yes there is a class that actually benefits from cursed items and that those are the succu and incubus but i believe blessed items act like cursed except you still get the extra stats out of em but you cant unequip. Not sure if you will read this prob not but this is the best tips i can give you since you like skelly that much which is not that great of a species tbh. also always share your spellbooks whit everybody but orcs, orcs are too dumb so they cant read at all unlike others that can eventually read any book.

@@stevethepocket You can stop bleeding with it. After eating tins of food, which you need a can opener for, you will sometimes get a "Greasy" debuff. You will randomly drop things you're holding while it's active. You can clean yourself and remove that debuff with a towel. Those are pretty much the two main uses for them.

Vinny, i love barony. and im glad you're playing it. But you're doing yourself a disservice by not opting into the quality of death beta. Massive improvements and QOL fixes. You can opt into it via steam properties.

Also quick tip for you if you're playing with others: Just turn on keep inventory after death. It saves so much time and item space, trust me. I know it sounds like it'll make it too easy, but it really doesn't, and I highly recommend it.

I think for the first playthrough new players should just do boring human and a simple class. A lot of instances of the game being way harder in this playthrough is due to people picking different races. Mixing races with a group is also tough if someone wants to try to recruit mobs as allies.
