I always felt like Lethal Company had more of an Alien vibe (average Joes are preyed on by alien monsters while working for an immoral company). If anything, I'd say The Thing would have more directly inspired Among Us. Still, a lot of the Lethal Company monsters are pretty Thing-like.

My friends and I recently started playing this and have honestly been so hooked. I really hope the creator of this gets a lot of support because there's so much to love about how this game plays out, both doing solo games and with buddies. It actually reminds me of old memories playing Day Z with a buddy and I love it. On that note, this game could really be fun as a deathmatch sort of experience, too, if you could spawn in random locations or in small sub-squads.

I’m really hoping it’s a player or players are infected, and have to infect/kill the others, and that it isn’t a human just killing the others. Either way, this is the one game that a “traitor” mode has me intrigued by.

Game is decently fun, but problem is with rounds lasting so long unlike Lethal where if you die, you’ll just come back pretty quick since the rounds are fairly short, if you die right away in this and you can’t get revived, you’re just sitting and waiting for an hour doing nothing. Oh, and the group I was playing in called them jet skis too lol

i think the best part is that the rounds last a while, so you can have long stories with your friends and sometimes not see them for ages. gives a really good sense of being cut off from communication to get stuff done.

I don't know if it was some sort of combination of enjoying the game vibe/wanting to see what the game has in store, being in a weird mood or what, but I found Jolly's antics kind of insufferable for the most part. And I usually enjoy him! Lethal Company is good for the comedic horror "Lmao bail on your pals as they get mobbed by aliens", but this one had little of that and felt like it was really trying for a The Thing atmosphere. So just killing your group with a pick axe while investigating felt out of place.

Yeah sorry I was a little to silly for the first couple of rounds. The pickaxe murders were to restart the round after I pulped Vin as I didn't know about the respawn mechanic and felt bad. Genuinely didn't mean to kill Vin with the axe.
