I have a brown one just like it that I got from my grandfather. Still works like a champ! Best cooler I have. I left the nest in 1998 for the military. 20 years later retired from the military. And still remember my grandfathers advice. "In order to have a life lesson it doesn’t have to be your lesson".

My great aunt and uncle have several of those coolers. They use it when we are on their pontoon boat and also they use it to store their beers. My great grandpa used to own one as well and also used it for his pontoon. Really nice ones.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane with your Old Red Coleman! I think a company could do really well making solid well built products like that. LOVE that old cooler. My grand parents had one.

I'll be using it today.

I remember as a kid riding in the back seat of my grandpas 72 Chrysler imperial on our way to the lake. Grandpa mom and dad in the front all smoking and all 4 of us kids in the back seat Sharing that space with a red Coleman cooler. No seatbelts just playing all over that back seat. As the oldest one of the most important jobs, to hand the adults beers as we went down the road. I miss those days.

I have a green one with no rust. Just have to sit on lid to be able to lock it.

I take mine out in salt water which I shouldn't do but my whole philosophy is to use it until I can't.

@@SleepyLizard first summer I will be using it, I'm 40 and my father just brought it out of storage. Honestly didn't think he even had it still, He Started bringing all the memories we had with it. Can't wait to add more to it. Like the old man says , if it ain't broke don't fix it and you never need more than one of something , lol Cheers

1:41 "and a set of wheels so you can drag it behind you." Apparently, wheels are a gimmick that eventually fail. I like bare essentials without all the built in wheels, telescopic handles, cup holders, cutting board, lights and gimmicky stuff to try and sell cheap quality.
