Vinland Saga is shaping up to be a true masterpiece. The animation is insane. The story is extremely well written. Character development is incredible. My favourite character isn't even the MC, and that's not because the MC is bad, it just shows how great all the characters are.

the manga is a classic and one of the best ever and so far the anime is just as good, season 1 is incredible with good action and a story you quickly get invested in. And season 1 is really only a prologue to a much bigger story Definitely recommend it

Not really... It shows everything that really took place in these times: genocide, families killing each other off for the crown, people's greed and also does most of the stuff related to characters based off real people that they did or would have done.

The best way I could explain how Vinland Saga is this, A lot of it’s characters and a good bit of the events that happen are real, although the overall story and characterization of many real life figures are fictionalized interpretations because we just don’t know 100% about what went on during that time period, it’s very hard to talk about Vikings because the sagas that we have of them are pretty vague and tend to exaggerate many things. Although the overall setting and the Danish invasion of England are relatively accurate.

Vinland Saga is ANIMATED by the same studio as attack on titan. The mangakas who wrote the two series are entirely separate people.

Fun fact, vikings were actually pretty terrible sailors on the open sea. That’s how they found Vinland and Greenland, they just got lost. Coastal waters and rivers were their specialty, and few people throughout history were as capable in that regard as the Norse.

While it is the same animation studio the stories are not similar. There are definitely some theme similarities but AOT is by Hajime Isayama and Vinland is by Makoto Yukimura. Can’t wait to see you react to Vinland Saga! It’s both amazing action and it dives into philosophical ideologies!

Well manga came out in 2005 and it's still continuing even now, wit studio is adapting the manga very good, Even if I think the art of the manga is better in some moments and more detailed, Vinland is definitely aoty.Attack on titan and Vinland are from the same studio but diferrent manga authors, many people are not informed about that. The original manga is a masterpiece and to be honest I never expected Wit Studio to make an anime adaptation of it but damn they nailed it... it's truly a great work of historical fiction although I wouldn't compare it to AoT since they're pretty different due to the kind of story they tell and the way they deal with their themes. Truly a must watch.
