You're the first one who made the lesson easier to understand and play! Good job Senpai!

This groove is awesome. The displacement gives it a very unique sound and feel. It is definitely different and challenging. Thanks for bringing this to us and breaking it down.

I’ve been listening and confounded by this groove for 25 yrs. Your lesson helped me get it together in 30 min. Thanks so much for creating this, I’ll be happy to share it with others that want to learn this!😊

Ok, da sind Schwindelgefühle quasi vorprogrammiert :P Sehr geil, dass du etwas von und über Colaiuta machst, und wie immer perfekt erklärt und demonstriert. Tausend Dank! Und was für ein grandioser Song!!

Only an opinion but I politely disagree that the odd meter transcription of the displaced beat is easier to read. With the displacement written in its original form within 4/4 I find it easy to shift the beat in relation to the quarter pulse and see quite clearly on what beat and what drum voice I do the next twist or displacement. Only a matter of opinion but overall this drummer and his channel is a goldmine of superb breakdowns and demystifying. Awesome channel, amazing resource and great drum teacher

on further review I now disagree with my former comment. The break down is logical and now I am can say I can play along whereas I wasn't confident before, and yes was not able even when first comment was made. No shame in sharing thoughts but I must admit the break down here is the best I have seen and has helped me finally learn and feel the displacement parts. I retract the comment of times past but happy to do so after revisiting this challenge and learning it finally and thanks exclusively to the in depth break down in this incredible video lesson. Truly thanks to the content creator here

A way to break the skip segments down is to skip after a certain counting. I count this transcription as such(at eight note values as played on the hi hat): 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 e, 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 and 6 and 7 e, 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 and 6 e, 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 e, 1 and 2 and e, 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 and 6 and 7 and 8 e! 6 16th note skips and after counts 5,7,6,5,2.5, 8. Nonsense seemingly on KZbin chat but the truth when counted while practicing. The skip is after the final number of each of my counts above. Try using my counts to help you if you've any issues. A final way to advance this is to note how many snare back beats are in each subgrouped counts and where they land within that count. The first five the beats are back beats on two and four. In the seven landing on the 1, 3 , 5, 7 . In the six counts 2, 4 , 6. The five after, 2 and 4 like the first five of the set. The 2.5 on counts 1 and + of two, and in the final eight(all displaced though against the original pulse) each back beat number ie 2, 4 , 6 and 8. Feed back welcome

another way of looking at the groove. Colaiuta explains it in 4/4 and all the instruments play in 4/4. What a way to complicate reading
