I always liked Vinnie, everyone has thier own demons and he is working on himself, He seems like a very humble guy and we are just glad to see him back, I wish him all the best, I admire most that he didn't put all the blame on his fellow KISS, he also said he had some issues but holds no ill will. WE LOVE VV.

It was 1982. $5200 a month wasn't anything to sneeze at. He was basically unknown. Also, I'm lead to believe he wasn't easy to deel with and wouldn't sign his contract. I wasn't there but a whole lot of people have told similar tales about the vinster. He is starting his bad dealings with people again here in 2018. All that being said, Vinnie is a great guitar player and a great songwriter. I think he is a nice person from what I have seen, I just think he doesn't deal well in the buisness world. Peace

It's nice to hear someone speaking positively about everything that wasn't there. Most people that are hating on everything weren't even there in person. Rad video, and I agree on so many of your points!

If I'm being honest I was startled by Vinnies Look for a moment his clothing mainly ! But that aside I couldn't understand why the people who set this up didn't have a Marshall Combo and a Jackson V there for Vinnie to play on . Set up a 5 basic effects board at his feet and let him adjust to his preference ?? I never was a big Kiss fan period but Loved The Vinnie Vincent Invasion record !! I'm a Guitarist with 30+ yrs experience and Vinnie was a Unique player not a Lynch or DeMartini but he had his own niche carved out for sure ... I wanted to hear him shred period ... Whoever put this together was a moron imo !
@muythaimutha

Aaron KM I agree with you I like to Vinnie Vincent invasion very much and I was expecting him to shred and I was definitely disappointed in his performance and I agree with you on Lynch and demartini I thought they were incredible players and I thought they had a little bit more tasteful solos than Vinny did although I loved his work on The Invasion records I was really surprised by the way he looked his outfit and just really let down by his performance.
@DeadShred9
@DeadShred9 6 жыл бұрын
Yeah I was disappointed myself . Vinnie is a very Awesome Guitarist but up against Lynch and DeMartini and many others Vinnie just threw to much at ya . Some songs from VVI do have a less is more tasteful type solo's . I think his time in Kiss was constrictive to his playing abilities . It took me about 5 months to learn the Boyz Are Gonna Rock solo back then it was a Machine Gun of notes but the Rhythm was Badass and its just a great 80's song. I get a lot of crap for not liking Kiss and I do like a few songs but I had 3 older brother's and they listened to Zeppelin , Sabbath , Aerosmith , Foghat , Free , Humble Pie I could go on so there were no Kiss records around . I think Kulick with the no makeup Kiss and Vinnie with it and without it were Kiss best guitarist my yrs. learning and playing out , lead me to that decision . Nothing against Ace but that's just my opinion. I don't judge Hardcore fans one bit . Lynch , Randy Rhoads & EVH were the guys who made me wanna become a Guitarist and were relevant at the age of 13 when I started . Kulick did some fantastic work with a band called Union if your not familiar you should check it out this was after he left Kiss . Thanks for your Kind response . I can talk 80's Rock / Metal all day long LMAO Peace dude ...

Aaron KM I definitely liked Kulicks work I will have to check out his other work I'm not familiar with that obviously I love anything Jimmy Page did with Zeppelin and Randy Rhoads and John Sykes and all the guitar players that were in the Thin Lizzy line up were the reason I wanted to play guitar I appreciate your comments and always a pleasure to discuss favorite guitar players with a fan of music best wishes to you🤘🤘🤘🤘

Much Appreciated !! John Sykes Oh shit so damn talented !! I put him with Guy's like Mick Mars , Vitto Bratta , Reb Beach I could go on and on but , these guys were so great just underappreciated at the Time . If your a Guitarist and an 80's music fan check out Joey Allen from Warrant their last record !! As Grunge was killing everything we liked they put out ( Dog Eat Dog ) I think, either way check out the song Machine Gun . Dude was responsible for some very memorable Riffs . Machine Gun and of course Uncle Toms Cabin show his true abilities but the band as a whole had to pander to the Label and Girls wanting love songs much like Skid Row who owe (Slave to the Grind ) in part to hanging out with Pantera . But the Labels wanted love songs Yuck LOL Peace !

It's not that he didn't play tastefully that's the problem... It's that he wouldn't play them solos in Key and it sounded bad/off. Still think the guy is great though.

You've got some rose colored glasses on for this fella. No one is asking you to NOT be a fan, but that guy sold a pack of lies about a great many things that made the headlines of this event. At least have the dignity to not weigh all of his merits on music he played 35 years ago and pretend like you don't understand that he's been gone a long time because he screwed allot of people, including his own fans. All of this is well documented and part of public record from court cases. And no one is playing semantics about trivial details here. He's just plain lying. He made $2,000 a week with KISS. He copped a deal with the state to not go to prison for domestic violence if he took anger management classes. He also told police and made a public statement saying he didn't know how his big dogs got out but they killed his three little dogs all at once and not this bizarre tale of three separate occasions staged by his now- deceased wife. What a horrible embellishment to make (on all counts) for someone who is not here to defend themselves. For all his wrong doing, he should have been in prison for the years he went missing. Lets just hope he is not allowed to hurt his fans again because it sure sounds like he hasn't learned much since he's been away. Love his music, but keep your eyes wide open.

Rick Baker I definitely think Vinnie needs to make things right with the fans and I'm definitely not defending his actions regarding the domestic violence charges or the dogs but what I am saying is that from a fan perspective musically not his personal life that I was hoping to hear the resurrection of some of the old Invasion Tunes upon his public appearance.He is a very odd individual and though I like his music very much and I'm a fan of invasion I'm definitely not a fan of some of the decisions he made that being said I would still like to hear him go back to playing in the style that he's well known for.

Thank you. Well said. I think when we're fans of something, there's not really a need to cross pollinate our love of the art with who the person is in real life. Two different worlds. But unfortunately too often fans DO associate fame and admiration of art with this ideal image of the artist. We always want to think someone we respect in a craft is not a d*ck in real life. But too often that is an inconvenient truth for too many of these people. I think we can always love the art, but it's definitely wise to stay informed about the person as well. Stay cool.

Lawrence R I will say that the story about his wife letting the dogs out three different times just didn’t ring true to me. If that happened once, you’d think that he’d have taken every precaution to prevent it from happening again or at least be on his toes about it as soon as his wife showed up again.
