@@Solidus_Edge It's definitely weird. Some people seem to only think in terms of comparison, they can't process the world around them unless they know what "the best thing" is so that they can rank everything else compared to it. They have to know, partially with the help of mindless groupthink, how everything they see stacks up to best thing. Everybody wants best thing, so everything is to be judged against best thing (that can never be surpassed as best thing so everything else just kinda has varying levels of "approaching infinity/bestness"). To have traits reminding someone of best thing, and therefore be closer to best thing than not, is good.

You can say what you would like about Charlie and the Chocolate factory, but the movie actually had amazing visual effects, and almost everything was done with practical effects with very little CG or green screens, from the squirrels to the giant melting chocolate palace. The 10 second chocolate palace scene was an entire massive set that they threw buckets of goop on to make it look like it was melting. And they trained something like 30 real squirrels to open up prop walnuts and to jump on and to "drag" the brat girl to the trash hole, and used dozens of puppet squirrels for the distant background squirrels. They only had one single actor playing all the Umpa Loompas, doing multiple rerecordings of the same shot to have him dancing in different positions for the songs, and used puppet look-alikes for the scenes where they stood next to the rest of the cast.
@AluminumFusion2217 күн бұрын
The primary goal of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) was to make an adaptation that would be closer to the kind of tone and storytelling Roald Dahl would've wanted to do. He wrote a script for the 1971 film but it was rejected, and Dahl hated how overly saccharine the final product was. Dahl's widow eventually saw the remake and said her husband would've been pleased with it, which is as close to a good adaptation as you can get.

The Narnia books are not an allegory of the Bible. There are some religious elements to them but they are very much their own story. They are great books to read, even as an adult. I highly recommend them if you like fantasy.

Wow, that Catwoman game might be even worse than the movie and that's a whole accomplishment by itself... Also, Vinny was enjoying that Narnia game and you can't tell me otherwise.

Home alone for ps2 has no reason to exist, in theory it shouldn't, it was released after even the 4th movie and before the 5th movie and has nothing to do with the first movie but the fact it does exist angers me.

The only connection it has to the first two movies is Kevin being there, and even then it might not be Kevin McCallister. The Wet Bandits in the game are obviously meant to reference Harry and Marv, but it's hard to say; they're all legally distinct.

Same publisher who released the awful belated game adaptation of Beverly Hills Cop.
