Monica Taylor Horgan is the indisputable standout in this game and extremely talented; she has many good things to say about making SH2. if i recall correctly, this game is a really coincidental masterpiece with Jame's voice actor having a divorce around Silent Hill 2's development, which helped him act out his pain more with the character losing his girlfriend, and Mary's voice actor lost a close relative, so they both had a LOT of heart pain to bring into their characters on set. this game really is a beautiful trainwreck

@@INeverWanted2010 Not really. The fandom was always like this. People who get into silent hill, but especially silent hill 2, get far too worked up making sure a experience is delivered and don't want it ruined. It comes from a good place, but it's annoying as hell and always was. But this was true for the game even when it first came out. and it's a odd trait only in silent hill, especially toward 2. It's perhaps the SH fandom worst trait....but in the grand scheme of fandoms, it's a mild and understandable one. As opposed to say...like furry or sonic fandoms.

Real talk, the only bad part about this playthrough was Vin constantly having to placate whiners in chat who would *_REEEE_* at his every minor comment, criticism or joke about the game, even though he assured them he was enjoying it immensely overall. Towards the half-way point of the game I got the distinct feeling he was actively self-censoring as to not trigger chat. Why do people insist that others absolutely need to experience a game exactly as they did the first time, rather than letting others just experience it in their _own_ way? As huge of a fan as I am of this game and the Silent Hill franchise in general, I couldn't disagree more with this obsessive fanboy mentality and I can only imagine how Vin's overall enjoyment of the experience might have been diminished by having to walk on eggshells the whole time.

It’s such a serious game with serious themes. I mean imagine showing your friend your favorite scary movie and they just sit there and make jokes about it and constantly joke about how shitty it is, maybe you wouldn’t feel annoyed but a lot of other people in the world would. The thing about Mary's talk with James and letter at the end that really stuck with me is throughout the whole game the weight of the horrible things done or done to the characters just weighs on you so heavily. When Mary and James talk it's like you can breathe again. Hearing Mary sound so sympathetic to James despite what he did to her truly shows she understood and still loved him. Yknow it's like... I can kinda relate. I mean I've never murdered someone but I know when you love someone and you feel anxious and confused and like you are a horrible person, just talking with that person you love can really clear your mind and make you feel better. Even under the worst conditions. I think this game illustrates that wonderfully. At the same time it's so bittersweet but... By the end of the game there's a genuine sense of closure. At least to me.

This has become one of my favourite videos of all time for the following reason: I tried to keep it short but I just couldn't cut any more out. Hope you give it a read since I just had to let this go. At least it's something that stuck with me. Spoiler Warning: Vinny reacting to the dog ending, shown immediately after the "leave" ending is something to live by. The real ending was incredibly depressing and it hits really hard. Vinny's silence throughout Mary's letter is kind of devastating and hearing him talk about experiences over the course of the credits is just plain disheartening. A lot of people can find themselves in James' situation and hearing Vinny kind of give in and admit that eventually this is mostly what there might be to life just didn't leave me cold. Maybe some of you who watched even remembered personal experiences and shed a tear or two. Right after, the editor cuts in the scene that Binyot missed in his playthrough and it´s a scenario that is way too real, even for the rest of the game. It's that you're still trying to comprehend what you saw and what you're feeling and all of a sudden the dog ending comes up and you hear Vinny laugh. I'm not sure if it's just me but in that first laugh you can hear so much relief on his side. His contageous laugh kinda cheers you up. It feels like someone who's close to you makes you laugh while wiping the tears off your cheek. It's just going back to some good old lighthearted sillyness with our favourite italian boi that simply exists because of how the video has been cut (intentional or not). This moment feels really wholesome considering the impact it had on me personally and that's why it stuck with me. Life might really suck and you will miss people along the way. But there's always the ones around you. If it's a relative, a friend, or someone like the binyot that you watch online... It's more than ok to mourn and grief but it'll never be what the person who's been lost would have wanted for you long term. Cherish, enjoy and hold on to the moments you have with the one's you enjoy to be with. As small and silly as they might be. I hope I could make clear what I love about the montage at the end. It´s hard to get the feelings this conveys to me into words, especially when english is not your native language. But I just had to thank the editor for editing it together the way they did. The entire stream was incredibly enjoyable and for the mentioned reason alone this Best-of supercut has become one of my favourite videos/scenes of all time. Spoilers for the end but... "I will Always Love You." Fucking hell that hit me deep. That ending alone is a fantastic piece of media, but to be included in such an extraordinarily atmospheric and psychologically engrossing game is a wonder in and of itself.

Maybe because that's not a table, at least in my eyes.

@@lasarousi yeah, its acually a rape scene of Angela and her father/brother and the whole room is themed around. Its stil a mystery what the 21 holes mean but thinking thats how many times she experience this makes sense.
@lasarousi5 жыл бұрын
@@YuubiTimberwolf I think it's not necessarily the amount of times, but the act repeating itself so many times in her head, just the act of penetration in and of itself is what represents the neatly ordered pistons on a higher point of the walls. The room is her own mind suffocating her daily. Or what I used to think, it's the amount of years it took to overcome her fear of her dad when she finally kills it with the tv and kicks it. But I think she is younger than 21 in the game, but who knows she is already dead for many years before James arrived. Game's great tho.

The end fucking hurts me, considering the fact that the protagonists name is James coupled with the conversation that he and Mary had while she was in the hospital dying of most likely cancer, was very similar to how conversations started to go between me and my mother as she deteriorated day by day before she eventually died, love your parents everyone.

"In Silent Hill 5..." oh Vinnie... they do actually go into Pyramid Head's origin in that game and it's almost as bad as what he said.
@Havokwreaker4 жыл бұрын
Technically it's the creation of A Pyramid Head (i.e. one particular, singular PH) -and its the result of a Bad Ending. Who knows where the O.G. Pyramid Heads (the at least 2 separate ones we see in this one) came from.

Isn't the whole idea of silent hill that it's some sort of personalized hell? How would something born from a guy's psyche have an origin? Or have I completely misunderstood what the series is?
