It's crazy that I've seen so many people play this game, but it never takes away from the tension. I still instinctively wince every time the gun barrel points at the camera. The black shell idea sounds cool! It could be one of three things, a blank, a live round, or it could backfire. A backfire round if you aim it at yourself or the dealer will do damage on the opposite side of the target. So if you aim it at yourself and it backfires, the dealer gets hit but if you aim it at the dealer, you get hit.

This is the first time I'm seeing gameplay of this game, and just from internet osmosis, I thought the game was some sort of ultra bizarro FPS game where you schut eldritch monsters and stuff, and probably in a hell dimension arena, Devil Daggers style (Press S and Mouse1 to Serious Sam). @@AlbedoAtoned each time you shoot at yourself, it decreases your chances to shoot the dealer by 1/n , plus it can also decrease your health with the same probability, and even if the shell is blank, all you can achieve by shooting at yorself is slightly increased chance to damage the opponent on the next turn - and it's actually works both ways, i.e. increases the chances for the dealer to damage you. Seems like bs.

@@user-cg8hw2zq4u Yes the game is basically gambling albeit with no real money involved. But here is what happens if you choose to never take the chance at pointing at yourself. The dealer will end up getting more chances to shoot at you. And their chances of winning go up dramatically the more turns they have. What would end up happening is that if a round started with say 7 shots, and you chose to never point at yourself except for maybe if you absolutely knew for certain the next shot was blank. Then basically you would get your shot in, the dealer would get more turns overall in that round, which ends up giving them a bigger advantage over you since the dealer is programmed to take propability of the turn into consideration. If there is a high chance of the next shot being a blank, he will likely point at himself, which means that the shot afterward could be live and he may point at you then.

As Albedo has highlighted, the biggest problem with this assumption is that the "always shoot dealer" strat doesn't take into account getting a free turn if you point a blank at yourself to increase live round probability. In an itemless 50/50 scenario, or a different game that wouldn't reward self-blank rounds, you would be correct. I recommend blocking the fart smella who gave you this bad advice.
