Is a picture of what this woman had called a orangutan was kind of crazy because there's a video or a man is on a kayak in Florida and as he's going through the this swampy Creek bed around trees and such you can see this silhouette of what literally looks to be the identical to this picture you just can't see the face real good but you can see the rest of its body and the way it was built was literally identical

@vinesaucefullsauce You totally missed the creepy thing about the black knight satellite. Unlike every other satellite known to man, which rotates east to west. The black knight satellite rotates around us north to south. Only satellite in our entire galaxy known to do so. Which is why there is a lot of conspiracy around it. If you think about how gravity works, and why things rotate the way they do... it stands out as a bit more than just eerie and odd.

I love the Griggstown Cow cryptid. It was a "ghost" cow that was seen as an omen of doom and would haunt the town. Then, people found out that it was actually a real, emaciated cow just wandering around looking for food. These people saw a cow and thought it was a GHOST.

The scariest thing from all of these is the real possibility of a monkey staring through your window at night. If, in my peripheral vision, I saw a monkey staring through my window in the dead of night, I'd probably have a heart attack.

This happened to me, thankfully it was during the day. I was sleeping and heard something shaking my curtains (I can't close my windows completely), groggily flipped the curtains just to see an equally surprised monkey before it ran to the verandah.

My favorite cryptid is still sky jellies (Jellyfish in the sky) It leads into a bigger conspiracy called atmospheric monsters. Which the basic idea is the sky is a second ocean, if water bears can live in the sky, other things might be able to also. Like giant jellyfish in the sky seen in Norway for some reason

Tsuchinoko is a Japanese cryptid which is a giant stumpy snake. When you google image Tsuchinoko one of the images is a Skink with their tiny legs removed in photoshop. You can find the non-edited image when you just google Skink or Blue tongued Skink. Obviously the entire myth is either some random japanese villager seeing a Skink, panicking and exaggerating the story or simply seeing a snake that has eaten a rabbit and doing the same. And over time they add obvious mythological aspects as the stories are retold. That specific example has shown me the clear path in which cryptids sink into the zeitgeist

I'm similar. I'm in a position of "I want to believe." and when pressed, I mostly don't believe any of this stuff because there's never ever any sort of supporting evidence to back a lot of it up (at least with the standards of a lot of other discoveries or scientific findings). That being said, I love to read about them, I love ghost stories, and I love to hear about stories despite not necessarily being able to cross over into the believer territory. I do hold out on the possibility that one day there will be a major discovery that makes living a little bit more interesting though.

Something that's important to note is that these photos don't have to be hoaxes to not be depicting the claimed cryptids. Photographs aren't perfect representations of reality and they only show one snapshot in time from one perspective, so it's easy to get a photo that looks like something paranormal despite it actually being something mundane. I feel like a lot of people looking at these sorts of pictures/videos get stuck thinking of them in binary terms, where it's either a genuine photo of the claimed thing, or a hoax, when in reality there tons of potential explanations for them that are neither of those things. It can get really frustrating when people fixate on stuff like "why would they lie?" as if that's the only other explanation for them other than the paranormal explanation when there are so many, many other potential explanations. They can be not lying, and it can also not be a bigfoot. Both of these things can be true.

Fun fact about the maneless lions, one of the theories as to why they were so aggressive is that lions in the area learned to see humans as a food source because a slave trade ran through the area, and the lions ate dead slaves that were just left there.

There is a theory that they had bad teeth and ate human because they were easier to chew/pierce than prey animals with tough hides. The lions on display now are much smaller now because they were originally skinned for rugs, then much later their remains were reconstructed over skeletons after being shrunk.

Thx for doing my segment. I know a lot of them were hoaxes but even those still had interesting stories behind them and they make the ones that are possibly real stand out more. I could have included more but they were either hoaxes that were too obvious (Hook island monster) or had actual dead bodies in them (tomato alien crash). There were also a ton of globster photos but I don't think Vinny and you guys would want to look at rotting chunks of meat. I might do another pack of weird things and historical occurrences along the lines of the lizard story and the meat shower.

If you're going to make another one I think the giant congo snake would be an interesting addition. Out of all the cryptids I've seen or heard about that one has always struck me as the most "realistic". There's also a great skeptic youtuber named John Michael Godier that goes over a lot of UFO/UAP stuff, old and new alike. He's concise and doesn't use and dramatization. His alien videos are basically "here's the facts, it's probably not real but it's still weird". If you need more alien stuff I'd strongly recommend checking him out.

The Skunk Ape photos are likely manipulated. I argue that yes- the first photo looks a lot like a black morph orangutan but it's probably a corruption of the photo. Apes don't have eyeshine and the second's underbite give the game away. These are zoomed in photos of a some New World monkey like a black lion tamarin or similar species. Which is apparently a surviving Tasmanian tiger, escaped big cat, or a prehistoric marsupial lion, but it doesn't remotely look like any of them. Sceptics believe that it's just a model or cut-out. @warsaw1548
@warsaw1548 6 ай бұрын
Kosmos-955 was launched on the same day, September 20, 1977, but it was definitely not the cause of this phenomenon. First of all, Kosmos-955 was not a space station, it was a satellite. Second of all, it's existence and launch were not classified. It was reported immediately by TASS (telegraph agency of the Soviet Union) in major journalistic and scientific publications of the USSR. Third, the phenomenon was visible as much as two hours before the launch of Kosmos-955. Fourth, spacecraft are launched and travel in a northeastern direction, due to the direction of the rotation of the Earth. The phenomenon traveled in a southwestern direction. Fifth, the preliminary report for "Official Use Only" assembled by the Soviet civilian scientists of meteorology, astronomy, and physics wholeheartedly rejected the theory about Kosmos-955 being the cause. Stating reasons given above, and for the fact that the grand scope and character of the event was too great to have been caused by technical experiments involving satellites and their orbits.

Well, didn't think I'd hear about Ol' Rip on Vinny's Cryptid stream... As wild as it sound reading it with no context, it's treated similarly to Santa in the town: The stories make no sense and are crazy, but it makes for a good mascot and as a good story to tell kids, so no one questions it... and if they do, they kinda get treated like an asshole. It's sorta like if you went to Loch Ness and started screaming about how it's all fake: You end up looking like the idiot in that situation. The whole thing can basically be summed up as "It's a small, rural town, and having a town mascot was a thing at the time." No idea why they put it in the cornerstone time capsule. Stories are sorta conflicted on it. I've heard that it just sorta climbed in before the cornerstone was put in and no one noticed... or that it was done intentionally because someone thought it'd be a "neat" thing to do. It's fairly widely reported that it did just hibernate for that long... but also it's pretty likely that someone just cracked the capsule open early and swapped it out because it'd make a good story. Most people are indifferent to it, but it's still at the court house. Or at least the custom made coffin they had made for him is. Every year, they do a whole festival around the thing, mostly as an excuse to have a town festival, do a parade, that sort of thing. For those who don't know about horned lizards, btw, they're actually pretty weird. Their blood has some toxins in it that serves as deterrent for predators... and they can shoot blood out of their eyes when threatened. So, while not a cryptid, pretty weird animal, all in all. They're considered a Threatened species, and it's pretty rare to come across one now.

Before high school, there was no mention of different forms of life, and we just had general science classes all throughout elementary and middle.
