There's seems to be a mistake at 1:20:22 where Zeldoom: Echoes of Wisdoom is shown. The watermark implies that it was made by PilotRedSun, but it seems to have been made by another animator called Ronununu. I'm sure no harm was meant of course, but it would of course still be best if it was somehow amended ;>

Mario's Music Box has made me come to the realization that a lot of RPG Maker horror games are really just "do the right thing or else you're fuckin' dead!" Ao Oni is pretty similar to it, just being much lesser in quality of course.

That's because it's a very easy way to write horror, because it's all very controlled in favor of the developer. It comes from the text adventure style and choose your Aventure games too, were some expected you to memorize the better routes and punished you anytime you slipped out. It's a very effective system to get the player on rails with the simplest game mechanics, and it clearly works dearly for a certain type of game. The thing is this type of game planning does get old fast for outsiders, and it's not a very hollistically interesting style of videogame. Some people do like the simplicity and charming RPGMaker look though.
