So the Televikko Phone was used as a toy in Japan in the early 90s to be like an interactive quiz for different properties. They made a Super Mario World one, but they also made it for other properties like Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball Z. Pretty neat stuff.

Never heard of this thing but I would assume you hooked up the TV to one of the audio channels, left or right, probably important, and that one had "main" audio, then you'd hook up the telephone to the other channel and that one would have questions and answers. The tape probably had some kinda tones it would send to the phone to say what question was right.
