I have a 1947 241-12 and I love it - I do all my thick military canvas on it. They were very well-built machines. Mine took a large container of 3-n-1 oil to fill .. I think I like your approach better.. I only use it once or twice a year lol. when I brought it home it fell over and sloshed oil all over my trunk 🥴 - I prefer the bobbins with the holes so I can look in and see appx how much thread I have left on it esp. when I'm about to do a long seam 👍🏼 great video

I am so grateful to you. I have one of those machines and know nothing about it, but I found the little bell thing from the oil pan and had no idea it even went to that machine. Thank you! PS. I did the table top random machine purchase once. I wanted the table that a 31-15 sat on and the guy offered me the one beside it too and when I looked it was a 78-1. I bought them both. ;)

Remove top and side covers to clean and oil, two screws each. Mine is the 1750 rpm motor cleaned and oiled. Watch my video on cleaning a clutch motor.

I have 241-11 which is the same in my opinion. 18 size needle and 69-90 size thread.

Enjoyed the set if vids on this setup. Do you know what kind of wood your table top is made of? And a guess to weight? These are beautiful. Before the ply and composite era.

we just brought one home and are excited to use it! I found the manual online, but haven't seen where to oil on the topside. Are you able to help with describing that? Also, how did you adjust the speed other than the height of the pedal? We have ours as high as possible, and it's still lightning fast. I heard you say you adjusted it in the motor. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!!!!
