That seat is in surprisingly good condition, especially with the windows down. Usually, all the fabric in these old cars is utterly destroyed. That seat alone is worth saving.

It may not be savable as a drivable car, but it looks like a good parts car for someone. Some of the small trim pieces and even parts of the interior look to be in pretty decent shape.

If you have your own man cave garage you should pull random items from cars thatd be cool to hang on the wall. Like those gauges

I agree with you. Nobody is going to safe it. But i might have an idea. You did brought up the idea of "all you can carry". That isn't really good for the complete yard, but maybe keep a small area of like... idk 20 cars that are indeed rare to find parts for and do it with just them. If you do a short what rare cars you have, people share these shorts in the respective groups and you say a date when people can come to part these cars out befor they get crushed the next day, maybe that would actually return some profit and safe a few more parts.

Cool car, but it suffers from "two doors too many". 😅. Interesting trivia: this car is almost indistinguishable from a 1952 Plymouth from most angles (!). You can tell by looking inside, and looking at the hood emblems, and the tail lights are different. Even though it's by GM, and the Plymouth is by Chrysler, I've often wondered how two sedans could be such near doppelgangers!

Given how little of it is left, this is one of the few cars that I agree with you on not saving.

The truth is: it's so damn expensive to live these days. So rescuing pets, having project cars, yearly vacations, thats all going away. I see more 30+ year old cars in the junkyard now, than 30 years ago.
@ricksanchezsflask87942 ай бұрын
People don't have garages and buildings to house or repair these cars either. Not feasible unless you run a business or have the space. Also doesn't help that younger people don't own tools.

@@brentboswell1294you're probably right about it being a hotrod project which they gave up on. If it wasn't a 4 door it would've been completely rebuild classic a long time ago. The interest in classic sedans is fairly recent

Good parts car for someone. Shame to crush it. I was looking at some 450SLs on their website but they are priced a lot higher than similar ones locally in a little better condition on FB marketplace for $1500-$1900. They get in some interesting stuff. Have to stop in sometime when I’m down that way.
@jburner42992 ай бұрын
It'd make a good lawn ornament, and be a good way to meet local car people. You'd be surprised how many people will come knocking on your door to ask to buy an old car just sitting there, rotting away.

Realistically, everything you said is correct, its good for some parts and thats it ...leave it for a minute and see if anyone needs parts than off to the crusher ..
