A neat vintage set. Boards are hard to find now-a-days but the players can be purchased online.

Thanks for this trip down memory lane. We had one (forget the brand) that had goalposts and the runner with one arm out sometimes got caught on the goalpost and kept spinning around it. LOL

My older brother had one of these, it was like watching paint dry. I preferred the Coleco and Mattell handheld football games.

We had one alittle older, field was made out of Masonite. Players came in two different color plastics, you had to paint the teams you wanted. Then one manufacturer, probably Tudor sold the different teams painted and we sent away for those. Made up our rules (stop plays make adjustments [bend botton plastic "straps"] to make runners or defense turn the way we wanted), with the quarterbacks passing and running plays and kicking. Would hold the handle on the back of quarterbacks and kickers. Cut points on the little plastic "straps" on the bottom of runners to make them go faster. Got strips of felt to make new "footballs" with. All in all, we had our own NFL football league. Before video games............then came PONG!😆

I want to see someone post a video of one of these with an optical mouse to use it to make yourself look busy when working remotely. I'm surprised nobody has done this.

I found this in my old childhood home and it was so boring we ended up using it to soothe our feet with the vibrations.

Anyone remember the PC dos game where the players were actual X’s and O’s ..can’t find it anywhere.

@gnarlymcgnarlson6952: It's called NFL Challenge. I have it. It's made by XOR corporation. I have the manuals and everything almost still like new. That was a fun game we played on the Radio Shack 8088 with two 3.5" floppies. You knew when a penalty was coming because it always made you switch floppies to see what the penalty was during gameplay. Great game and boy did we have fun for hours on end with it! Google it - it's on wiki even! :)
