What a find! Not a deck I am desperate to own personally, however I can truly appreciate the value in owning a vintage copy. Not to mention the excitement in finding one in perfect condition! The titles alone make all the difference, let alone any other features you may appreciate. What a lovely Birthday present for you! Speaking of which, I do expect to take you for a glass of bubbles .... asap!! Biggest love to you M! 🥰

Oooh, a sealed copy 😍 Happy belated birthday friend ✨ I have a vintage copy as well, but did know much about it. Your knowledge on the history and details on cards is incredible, I was complete rapt! 💚💚💚

Thank you so much for watching, for my birthday wishes and your kind words, James! 🙏💖 I find the pips in this deck just stunning, and the cardstock in the vintage decks from the 70s is just so delicious! Sending much love! 💖
Awww, thank you so much for watching, Simon! 🙏💖 Yes, I remember 1JJ Swiss was your first tarot deck! And how amazing you & Sandra managed to source its vintage versions! 💖💖💖 I really love 1JJ & think it is an important deck having launched Stuart Kaplan & being the first deck distributed by the US Games! Yes, the 2019 reprint I got on Book Depository has the card titles in English. The cardstock is nice but not as special as my vintage copy and with that the 70th cardstock. I’m curious now, who is listed as the distributor of your 2 sets, Simon? Waddingtons or US games?

You did not mention but the wings in the angels in judgement have different wing colors. Yellow as opposed to white. I love my vintage jjswiss. I have the same 2 of coins. mine was distributed by us games and the cut outs in my 2 piece box is not centered. This deck has such a playful nature. I prefer this deck over any of my other marseille decks.

Oh yes, of course @tarot trainee! The Angel wings are of different colour in Judgment card! 🙏💖 Yes, I, too, love the playfulness of 1JJ Swiss and am so pleased to hear you love your vintage copy, too! A definite new Besancon fave of mine!😍 Thank you for stopping by! 💕

The companion hardcover book by Kaplan talked about the Moon card in such a fascinating way. He says the the lower box with the crustacean is actually a close up of it crawling up one of the pillars or columns of the woman's house! So the meaning of illusions or ominous happenings or impending confusion is alluded to. Isn't that wonderful? Thanks for this comparison, Mascha. BTW, there is a deck Ebay which may be the very first printing as the box is different. And in that deck the coloring looks different, more saturated as the blues are more towards navy and the reds are more burgundy or darker. I was tempted but the price is pretty high. All the best, Anne

Hi Anne! Thank you so much for sharing the story of the Moon card! 🙏💖 How fascinating & special! My friend has a 1965 version of this deck, which is titled Taroc 1JJ, and that’s the oldest I have seen online. It’d be so amazing though to see the different versions and the progression of 1JJ Swiss from its initial printing from 1830 and on!
