Ansonia clocks are among the highest quality and hold their value quite well. Hi Bunky, I looked this clock up and the model name is "Padua" and it is shown in Ansonia trade catalogs dated 1894 and sold for $16.50 at the time. I think the figures on the side are referred to as water dragons but am not certain about that. I think the topper on this one called "Queen" which dates to 1904. Can't tell from the lighting but she should be holding a scepter. She sold separately for $3.60 and has a very nice Japanese Bronze finish. At the time the clock was worth more than the toppers but today, many times the topper is worth more than the clock. Very collectable. Anyhow, I enjoyed seeing your nice clock and hearing it's beautiful striking!

Hello there, I was trying some time ago to find some info on this clock but didn’t get very far. Thank you so much for all that you sent me. May I ask what trade catalog you are using?

@@Bunkysworkshop I used the book Ansonia Clocks & Watches by Tran Duy Ly. It's basically a gathering together of old catalogs with the image reproduced, any data the catalog had and the year of catalog it was from. Sometimes I have good results when I do research going to the "Internet Archive" and search for Ansonia catalog or some other. It will also list periodicals of the time that have the phrase you're looking for in there. If you are interested in seeing what I found you can send me an email by clicking on the About header on my channel page. Just put "Bunky" somewhere in the email and I'll snap a couple pics with my phone and send it to you. Only if you want to, your choice. Thanks again for showing your clock! -Ab.

Nice clock looks so cool. How many clocks do you have in your collection?

I have about 70 or so clocks and just rotate them. I grab 8 or 10 and bring them about for a month or two and repeat.
