Wow, Kelly Freas interior...he did a lot of SF cover art. I never heard of him doing interior art.

Oo, Love that Gremlins Go Home! E. C. Tubb - I love the Dumarest saga, I have nearly all of them (and a couple of double-ups), you can read them out of sequence just fine, though it is better to start with the earlier ones. I think Kalin might have been my first one actually.

A Wizard In Bedlam is part of the second long-running series in Christopher Stasheff's DDT universe. There is quite a lot to read before you get to that book, if you want the full story, that is. That book is part of the Rogue Wizard series, which grew from one of the books in the Warlock Heirs miniseries, A Wizard In Absentia. The Warlock series is really where you should start, but it is really quite a commitment, so it is understandable if you choose not to.
