I have a Gianni Versace jacket, in wide gray stripes, similar to this with a shawl collar. The “V” of a shawl collar repeats the design lines of a bias cut print. I have seen it on designer consignment sites for $1000+. Leaving the jacket unlined allows the bias fabric to uniquely wrap to the body. Bias cut hugs the waist in a very flattering way. The Versace jacket has a large facing with finished edges, tacked to seams. This pattern is a gem. Thx for the find.

@SewAnastasia2 жыл бұрын
This is great to know! I will keep doing these. Once you learn process of how a garment goes together you don’t need the instruction sheet. I don’t use them. If anything I’ll look at it just to see why they drafted pieces a certain way. Like this one had so many extra facings that it didn’t need. Thank you for watching 💕

I love the pattern however I don’t like the fact that you couldn’t match up your stripes or plaid. Why didn’t it match up? It shows it matched up on the pattern front cover so it should’ve matched. Was there anything about an even plaid or uneven plaid on the envelope that limit a fabric choice?
@SewAnastasiaАй бұрын
@@sandreawhite7534 It did match up. I don’t understand. Thank you for watching though :)

Do you accept sew along requests? I have this beginner pattern McCalls m8213 that I am going to attempt using 100% chocolate and white gingham print. I’m going to do a mock up using muslin. It’s a summer dress with straps or ties and one or two tiers. I’m making it for a photography session with my children/spouses and all the grandkids. Our 27th Anniversary is coming up and since I never make them take pictures I thought one good time is enough.

It's a shame the fabric chosen does not match on the fronts - typically the most important area for visual impact. This pattern would be better done in a solid color or very small random pattern - this plaid does not enhance the design of the jacket. It was a good tutorial, but wrong fabric choice.
