I'm pretty new to this, so feel free to send suggestions on how I should structure it!
IBM PS/1 booting to DOS and copying some files to 3.5" and 5.25" floppy disks, with Model M keyboard. This is what computers used to sound like, kids!

while you cannot hear that disk reading sound, you still can hear fan and keyboard sound in modern computers. but i REALLY LOVE the reading sound so i will use the dvd reader

I started late, but dabbled in older PC's that were tossed out at the time. Almost reconfigured an IBM "luggable" until my toddlers managed to fry it. I still have an older board with native 1.44. as well as a custom mini-itx mod.

I know a lot of people will say they miss this. I don't! Then again I was using mainframe computers with tapes and 12 inch floppy readers when I started in the workforce and computers like these weren't even around when I was a young adult!

@@miketech1024 I still prefer the old DOS and even original NES games over pretty much all of the video games that's out these days with the exception of some of the PS2 games, but even the PS2 was out longer ago than I want to think about lol. I feel old 😂

I love those sounds! I'm not sure what's better! I love the sound of the HDD first spinning up but even the keyboard sounds good! I haven't heard a 5 1/4 floppy drive in so long though, that's definitely my favorite today!

10 floppy disks to make a large backup using pkzip. If one floppy failed, the entire backup was gone. The solution was to have a set for each day of a week. So, 5 business days x 5 = 50 floppies in the drawer.
