Congratulations Mr Wofgang! You makes me go to the past when I used my analog mixers, like yamaha Rm800 in my studio, Yamaha Promix 01 in my small PA, and my Soundcraft Spirit Live 4 32 channels mixer for PA. There were a lot of mixers you show that I was dreaming to buy in the past. Today I use the digital mixers from england, yamaha and so on. Thanks you so much for your class and tour, and obviously to he people that makes this place with all this audio history. I wish I was there too! From Brazil, congratulations again!

Thank you so much for posting this and thank you for making me feel old:) It was nice to reminisce; I was fortunate enough to use most of those large format consoles and outboard gear back in the day. I can still feel what those P&G faders on the Midas PR consoles felt like.. It would have been cool to see a Clair S-4 or even Turbosound TMS-3 along side the others.

God i remember working with a crappy Southern rock cover band in the mid 80's doing sound. They had no clue about sound reproduction and had misspent a lot of money for a 4 piece band. I remember bringing in my Hafler DH500 to demonstrate the sound of a separate amp versus a mixer amp. Reconed speakers to clean up their bass bins. Got better compression drivers. Had them sounding better than they deserved by the time i went to college and was to be exposed to touring sound. Meyers, Clair Bros. TurboSound. Insane hanging weights for our airroof building. Racks and racks of Crown amps for the U2 subs. They spent their money on sound instead of lights back then. Boy has that changed. Great video. Brought back memories. Thought real hard about making sound for a living but the pros that I was working with talked me out of it. FOH mixing was such a hit or miss career target. I now know that sound engineering would have been a better target for me. Still love sound.

This is fun, I have mixed on some of those big Martin rigs over the years and I just got rid of four of those JBL wedges from the 80s they are 1982 Cabaret series if I remember right. I have used tons of those Cerwin Vega bottoms B36. I have mixed on MSL3 cabs. And lots and lots of the Bose 802, they were great for hanging from tall stands for public address for sports fields.

lovely video, thank you.. 19:44 may i ask what were the limitations that prohibited the use of line arrays for concerts in the past?
@mothergrid-magazine Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question, Schabbach replied as follows: „There was no line array for touring concert use until VDosc. Before that, there was simply no concert line array suitable for touring. Christian Heil has brought the line array format into a road suitable format. The line array technology is much older and has been used for a long time, e.g. in fixed installations.“ I hope we could help! Markus

One SPX was verb which went across drums and vox…second pitch doubler flange and reverse reverb only effects I used….we had showco tops 2x12 large 2” horn and 4 double 18 peavy subs 2 preside…to this day I hear engineers whose vocals sound harsh or boxy 400-800 hz needing to go….but no one seems to care….thanks for the video
