Vintage Desk Lamp [Restoration]

My Mom mentioned she needed a new desk lamp. This vintage lamp was in pretty bad condition, so I pick it up for just a few dollars. I was surprised to see the copper plating on the shade after I sandblasted it. I would've loved to have saved the copper however the plating was just too thin. Mom liked the final result, and in now sits on a desk in their home. Love you Mom.

Put an LED bulb in and you have an old modern-bulbed lamp that uses a fraction of what it used to use and looks great as well. Thumbs Up!

Nice job...i restored the exact same lamp a few years ago. Mine was in well used condition including the remnants of a gold colored floral decal on the front face. So i just cleaned and sprayed with lacquer. Added a good quality touch lamp module in the base...love it. Keep up the good work. Cheers.

Great job, on all the restorations I seen. I have subscribed. I do have a request. It would be great if you could get a shield for your camera so that we could see the sandblasting process. I love watching the rust and dirt just seemingly vanish before our eyes, like a magic trick.

Cool! What was the green tape for around the lamp shade before the green was painted?

To prevent white over-spray on the outside of the shade

It was just there while he was painting the underside white, it just helps to get a sharper paint line.
