Vintage Echo Kioritz 452VL Chainsaw Repair and Running

I have a John Deere V 50 Echo made the saw for John Deere. I’m looking for a replacement bar and chain a 16 inch do you have any information if I can get one off Oregon or where I can get one appreciate any feedback. Thank you.

Big problem on these was the anti vibe mount rubs a hole in the fuel tank

Isn't there a screw on the inside near the bar to adjust the bar and chain tension?

How did you remove the carb? I can't find any literature on how to remove it to replace the fuel line.

Hey hey ! I just got a 440 EVL. Do you have part number for the var/ sword i could use for this one ? It does the oiling straight through the upper mount hole and does not need the oil hole....that otherwise goes on the swords. But I think it is special type of sword...huhh so chain and sprocket all get together and does the right measurment and fitting. What type Oregon f.ecs. can I use or buy. Would like an eighteen inch. I think the saw is man enough for that. Real old one...but very good condition. Seems like a king saw ! :-)

It’s the same size as John Deere V 50 just that yours is the echo. John Deere was yellow and yours is orange.

I had the same problem with the front chain stud. Unwound it anti clockwise., cleaned the threads thoroughly, male and female then used loads of loctite 2700 and left it overnight. Seems to be fixed but I won't be tempted to overtighten it.

It should be 32:1 fuel mix!

Well they're pretty cool and as long as you don't need parts, should be fixable.

Check the fuel hose. Mine had disintegrated. It was in peieces under the cover.

I have the same saw, how did you tune it so the chain stopped running ?

You turn the idle screw and the low screw down. Just a little at a time, until the chain stops. If your engine starts getting faster you know you're turning it the wrong way.

Working pretty well now, slightly smokey but running. I will tweak it .

@@peteball8294 that's great! The smoke could be coming from the gas being old. But if the gas is fresh then the smoke could be from how high or low you have your high screw turned.
