Vintage Eurohike Backpacker Tent - The Original!!!

Hello lovely people!!!
I am so excited to share this little video with you! I have so many memories of camping in a tent exactly like this as a teenager that I cannot wait to get it up (lol!) on the moors!
There's no real point me putting any specs in the description as this is no longer available but if you have any questions feel free to pop them in the comments and I'll do my best to answer them for you!
With any luck my next video will be a solo wild camp on Dartmoor with this beauty! Bring it on!!!!

Reminds me of heading to Glastonbury circa 1993 in my mate’s white mini and getting chased across a field by cops as we were trying to break in while lugging a heavy eurohike tent 😂 we pitched it on the noisiest dance camping field by accident. Had a great time! Thanks for the nostalgia trip

This was my first non canvas tent! I thought it was the bees knees after lugging much heavier canvas and wooden poles. I think I have a photo somewhere of my girls in it circa 2002/3 I got it in the mid 80's. It's pretty bombproof.

I own an Eurohike Backpacker dlx 2. Excellent tent, I was so impressed with it. I have even got it up in 60mph winds and that was before the Madras! I have sprayed all my tents whether they needed it or not, I don't trust manufacturer's efforts.

6:15 Karen those white caps stop the rain from running down the pole spikes and into the tent. So they are in the correct place xx

Now, don’t laugh, I have still got my Outbound Cheetah 3 dome tent. I remember buying it from Argos in the 1990’s for £75!! I haven’t used it for years. I’m going to get it out of the loft and pitch in the garden come spring time. It’ll be interesting to see if it’s still waterproof 😆. I haven’t camped for years but I’m quite tempted after watching your channel and others.

My first tent was very similar except only a single pole front and back. My mate and I toured Northern Spain for a month and sweated every night. Then I took it to Snowdonia and woke up in a puddle every morning :-) I was young and stupid then - now I'm just stupid...

Bonjour, une tente a deux pans, classique dans les années 70...... C étais celle de ma maman. Tube en aluminium et plein de réparation. @@ksgonewild

Yep thats where ther "rain cowls" go...... on the top there,,, but i used to put the guys on top of them not under them...(they hold them on in the wind if they get looser fit thru use)

Love it!! I have a saunders backpacker tent vintage. It has the rubbers lol lots 18 just round the bottom, and the small white caps (you had them correct) are called rain caps stops it running down your poles inside 😉 love a vintage tent 😊

I had a Eurohike II which I bought in Hitchin and there was a camp shop near the square. I think it would have been 84. It was blue with orange door flaps at the front. It also had a ridge pole which was brilliant as it kept the fly sheet away from the inner tent and the inner tent hung from it by elastic loops. Only trouble was I hardly ever used it and I think I chucked it out … wish I hadn’t xx

I lived near Hitchin for a couple of years (85/86, Lower Stondon) I have a vague memory of that shop. Pretty sure I bought my trangia in there.

This looks similar to my Robert Saunders tent which was my first tent.. I bought it in 1984 and still have it forty years later it and has plenty of ware in left..!

Cool tent, I actually still had my tent from when I was 14 years old, also a 2 man A frame, I can't remember the make. My children used to play in it every summer in the garden. I stupidly decided to throw it away when they lost interest in it. #Regrets 😢

Looks very much like a Lichfield Viper2, change the poles to Ali would take a decent about of weight out 🙂edit, I think it may be easier to pitch inner first Karen, just because you can do it fly first doesn't mean you have to eh.

The inner hooks into the fly right at the back do you couldn’t get your the hook if you pegged the inner out first… bl00dy faff though as I’ve found today with frozen ground lol!!!!

I remember my very first tent it was a triangular A frame (blue) however one night Bigfoot ripped it up in a rage and I was only twelve and ran off. Be a different matter if it happened now! I would have knocked his lights out, the horrible creature! Cannot remember the make of it, but Bigfoot made a right mess of it!

Eurohike……not much Euro about them apart from the name🤔. That said, their 2 person & smaller tents are fantastic value and have reasonable longevity……and I have 2 Eurohike tents in my collection⛺️😊.
