I’m 60 years old, and miss people dressing well. That’s not to say everyone looks like they just rolled out of bed today, but it’s certainly not the same. Dressing well makes you feel better about yourself, and commands at least some respect from others. Well, at least until you get hammered on Christmas booze.

Yeah i'm the generation yours usually blames for not dressing well anymore, and i just wanna let you know we would if clothes were like those back then instead of the cheaply made overpriced stuff with no personality they churn out now. I get vintage, but your generation keeps jacking up the prices, so do you want us dressing well or not?

My husband and I grew up in large Italian families and this film reminded me of those times at Christmas. It was beautiful when everyone lived close and everyone came to visit Grandma. What I find amazing is how they afforded to give everyone a gift and the gifts were not little either!

This was such a joy to watch! How many people did you FIT in that house!? I’m an old fart now, 65 and Jewish, but as a kid, my Italian neighbors and childhood friends would invite me over for Christmas. All of those presents! All that fantastic food! It wasn’t easy being Jewish as a kid. I was so damn jealous! I wounded up marrying a Catholic Venezuelan girl in 1989, and since then, we do Christmas like an Italian Christmas… Including The 7 Fishes on Christmas Eve!

Family gatherings were a force of nature. I lament to my younger brothers that we have lost the knack and they mostly agree. A tip of the hat to my one brother who painstakingly organized a summer family picnic in June of 2019. That gathering had the vibe we had been missing for quite some time. That picnic was supposed to restart the annual tradition but COVID-19 happened. We did manage a big Christmas Dinner out last year. Any repeat of that is still up in the air.

Mom always made sure we dressed nice to go visit family especially during Holidays, we respected one another with loving grace , as we respected the birth of our Lord Jesus. We enjoyed sweet treats and a wonderful meal together. I was born in 1964 & am the oldest of 6 so typically I got to sit at the grown ups table , but to keep the younger ones company I often would sit with them anyways. Out of respect and with love. We exchanged gifts and would sit under Grandpa's pool table with a peppermint stick and our new toy. What a truly wonderful time to grow up. ❤🙏

Been watching a few of these Christmas past nostalgia videos and never commented but I feel I must on this one as it is truly beautiful, such a large loving family, I swear I don't think that front door stayed close as more and more people came in but that is where the love and true meaning of family is when everyone can be together for just one wonderful day. What a wonderful Christmas day that must have been for everyone there, I would love to have my whole family get together like this. The table and food alone must have been hectic but well worth it.

When I was a kid, we got our 12 foot p.us Xmas ttree from the Brooklyn (NY) produce terminal market. Then we would drive around with the tree on the car. We had a big Mopar with the biggest engine which my father had further souped Up. We would cruse the surrounding Canarsie section of Brooklyn looking at one house try to out blast all the other houses each with 10 million lights on each house. These pictures you show here are nice but as I look back, I rnow realize that I don't want any country Christmas........I want a...CANARSIE Christmas!!!!

These are videos of several Christmas’ from about 1968-1972. My uncle (who was 7 feet 3 inches tall had a video camera and would film my Grandma and her 7 sons and 1 daughter’s kids coming over Christmas Day to open gifts and eat. I’m the dark haired boy with his arm on the TV watching my cousins open their gifts. (1:46). My Grandmother and Grandfather came from Croatia and my Grandfather worked at the Steel Mill in Cleveland. Unfortunately, my Father and brothers and sister have all passed away now. At least I get to look back at such a wonderful time in my life, where Family was so important. I try every year to give my boys the best Christmas experience I can. The music I just threw on there from KZbin, I didn’t know how to handle copyrighted material... sorry.
