This was my first "amp". I would plug it into the microphone input of my little boom box and just rip all day long. I still have the G1 and funnily enough, when I run the amp output into the FX return of something like my Splawn or SLO, it actually sounds pretty rad. Certainly good enough that I could plug it into my little 2 notes cab sim pedal and then DI into the house and play a show. The crowd certainly wouldn't care... just hit the right notes and we're good. Good tone is optional.

You´re completely right. When I worked in a Shop, I used to show people these FX Pedals on a Mesa Stereo Power Amp an 2 4x12 Cabs. Sounded Amazing . . .

i've had one of these since it came out (i own 2 now). always referred to the 4th mode as the "1994 pantera/white zombie tone". can definitely play metallica style with it too. the one ive had since my teen years, the pedals got all busted up. randomly found one used for about $75! i really love tuning my guitar down to B standard, turning all the tone knobs off, both pickups on w/ the 6th mode, octafuzz! it's a nasty sound for sure.

I agree, it can get really nasty with these scooped dimebag or early Metallica sounds . . . liked the quality of the effects too.

Funnily enough, Dimebag recorded the outro to Floods with a G1 and a borrowed guitar lol

@@hartguitar yeah in his Riffer Madness book him and his buddy explain how they cut the outro like minutes before sending the album out for printing. It’s basically a guitar straight into the G1 straight into DAT

Well it’s completely programmable and you can switch between a distorted or clean preset.
