I have 1 of those Air Adventurer Adventure Team G.I. Joe. Still in the box never played with condition. He's completely fallen apart. The rubbers dry rotted. I never got around to sending him to The Medic. Don't think The Medic is still around. I think he created that repair kit if memory serves. Wonder if Cotswold still sells them? Great 📹 🎥 video. ✌😎👍

Hey bruh, boil some water then soak the rubber hands to make them more pliable for replacing them on the pegs. Also works for taking off the head off the neck peg if you have to.

LMAO!!! An Eggo Box....wow, some ebayers are a joke. 🤣😂...I mean..You pay good money for your item and they don’t care to package it well?? That was funny to see, thanks for sharing. I want to do a muscle body repair bc I am tired of paying too much for them already fixed. Thanks for posting this! I’ve used Cotswold items before and I’m impressed so I was glad to see you use this kit and had a good experience. They seem like a good group of guys who care about collectors so I don’t mind giving them my business.

Yeah I highly recommend cotswold, its a great resource if you like vintage GI Joe, only thing I would have changed in this repair is maybe using a touch of plumbers tape to make the joints a little tighter.

Also, do you have any experience with Super Joe refurb? I have a lot of respect for Skunk Works and he (I think his name is Jeff) posted a video and it looked like it was a rough go, the kit he got was $$$, not engineered well and the 3D printed stuff was not to spec... not to mention the Sellers’ complete lack of integrity. Kudos to Skunk Works for posting his experience to warn others...like I said he’s a top notch guy👍 for doing that and probably saved a lot of guys(gals) from having a similar experience. I saw your video on 12” Super Joe gear which also looks cool but I Also want to repair my original Super Joe as well so I’m looking for people who might be able to give advice? Thanks again! Pat

What kind of glue did you use? Just concerned that using super or gorilla glue might make it impossible to repair again further down the road.
@TheSkullReviews
@TheSkullReviews 3 жыл бұрын
I used loctite gel control super glue I think, I didn't use much but being that the joints used for the repair are plastic instead of the original rubber they shouldn't need any repairing anytime soon. BTW I may have an update video coming soon based on this figure and the repair in question so stay tuned and thanks for watching.

@@TheSkullReviews I have a couple from my childhood collection that have fallen apart ( Mid 70s, Eagle Eye and Bullet Man ), that definitely need this. I also have a bionic man ( Steve Austin ), that I haven't found a repair kit for - have you ever done one of those? I also have an earlier 70s model missing his voice box and pull string, know of any place that might sell just this part?
@TheSkullReviews
@TheSkullReviews 3 жыл бұрын
@@kenrk Yes I have worked on all of those, I've only repaired one talker and not on video though. Bulletman is highly valuable, you could also restring the muscle body joes instead of adding the joint kit like shown in this video, restringing them is safer as you don't have to break apart the figure to do it, however the result is not as good as the joints. What's wrong with your mike powers? as for finding a new talker box ebay is the only place besides facebook gi joe buy sell groups.

@@kenrk Okay, I used a wooden paint brush like a small dowel, wrap the arm in something soft as not to marr it up, and hold it firm or use plyers, then with a hammer tap on the wooden dowel until it pops out, thats what I did.

Thanks for the video. I'm having a hell of a time trying to get the old hand pegs out of the forearm. Do you have any other tips for that? You make it look so easy. What size is the dowel you used for making that happen? I've been trying a screw and it is a B-word. Any tips in regards to that would be really helpful and much appreciated. Thanks again!

I know this is not an easy process to do let alone film, I used an old wood paint brush handle to pop it out, what's on hand kind of thing, I used a cloth and plyers to hold it in place and not mar up the plastic, then the dowel and hammer to knock it out.
