So that’s what they look like when complete and running. Remembering a 275 frame on main wheels the neibor had just over the fence, rusted. Thanks Mike, fascinating 👍🇺🇸

Really enjoy watching those older machines still doing the job, looks to be doing a good job too. Regards from Down Under.

Those are a lot better than an old sickle bar mower pulled behind a tractor, we had a Hesston hay swather (made in Hesston Kansas) on our dairy farm when I was a teenager and it was kind of fun to drive. Nice seeing the old equipment still out there getting it done ! Thanks Mike ! 👍

This takes me back,we had a 163 IH swather with a 12 ft draper and an air cooled Wisconsin engine. I don't know what year it was but I think it was just a little bit older than this one. It was crude but kinda fun to drive.

I ran an IH swather when I was a kid. Its reel had wooden bars on it. It broke a lot of bolt on that reel. We replaced some that were too long and forgot to cut them off. It tweaked that reel and it never was the same. It splintered those wooden bars.

Nice all purpose mower. I like the simple offset pivot for the towbar, on the trailing wheels. Good design. And turns on the spot ! 🇬🇧👍What's not to like?

We had. 175. The steering was terrible . Slow machine compared to a pull type. Versatile dominated the market with the 400, and they did it through simplicity. However if you wanted to cut big acres pull type was the way to go, in those days. Those machines were meant for small acre farmers or crop that was laying down and add a pick up reel and steel lifters and you can salvage the crop and opening up the first round of the field before the pull type swathes. I would like you to do a video on the coop machines in Canada . Check out we’re here to stay on national film board of Canada. Mike , take a look at that coop swather, it was a machine ahead of its time. Built in Winnipeg , Mb.

I know here Edgerton is. I grew up in Steuben County, IN. Hey the old machinery works better than the new stuff. I’m sure.

I worked for IHC during this period and we sold these BUT they mostly were returned by the farmers , who said they could afford the fencing. Because 6:55 they did not plan ahead for a squarE turn because of the tank type controls which braked the inside wheel and allowing the outside wheel to pivot to a 90 deg. Turn. They were removing sections 😊 of,fence on every turn, so they said they could not afford the fence!! 6:55

one sure doesn't see many of those anymore, a neighbor has I think the smallest SP model IH made either around the same vintage or the model line that came before that machine in the video

There were 5 or 6 IH275s swathers in the neighborhood in the late 60s 70s and 80s, both draped and twin auger headers used (diapers used by farmers who swathed oats, the twin augers also worked). We bought the baby brother, 10 ft., draper only, Model 175, Wisconsin air cooled engine, planetary drive the year before the 275, (375 hydro drive) came out. 👨🏻🦳 🐄🐄 🚜northeast Wisconsin.
