your passion for your work is outstanding my friend,i have watched some of your old bycicle videos and i found them beautifull, but with this video in particular really shows that the japanese bikes of the era were so well made i mean the attention to detail is so great its mindblowing ,you sir are a artist and you have my respect for it! and also ask you if you could help me as i too am fixing an vintage portuguese bycicle from the early 60s and any sugestion you may give are apreciated, cheers

That's like the best bike ever. Seems like the Chinese bikes made after 1950 copied a lot of these design aspects, but are not even close to the luxury and detailed craftsmanship of these bikes. Thanks for sharing your passion.

Wonderful collection on flicker. I have other photos of fender ornaments on my blog which you can search on google Vintage Japanese Bicycles. On the left column are albuns and toward the bottom is an album of fender ornaments. Long live the fender ornament!

@Guustaf I am impressed. Your comment is less than 10 words yet conveys more than any paragraph could. Thank you Sir.

Hello Matt. Magent was the name of the "Model" , manufactured by Mimura before the war and "Okubo" after the war. My blog is called Vintage Japanese Bicycles. Mostly in Japanese but on the left side there is a column of photos with links, one of these photos is the Magnet model.

@excalebuir Thank you for you kind words; however, it is the Japanese craftsmen and women who deserve the praise as, thanks to them having made such wonderful machines in the first place, it makes it easy for me to revive them. As far as advice is concerned, "take you time" the results are a reflection of the time and effort. If you have any questions refer to my blog and see my profile, you can contact me by email there Vintage Japanese Bicycles. Good luck with you restoration project!
Los japoneses inventaron está bicicleta 28 i compitieron con los ingleses, en realidad la bicicleta japonesa es de calidad también, yo respeto los productos japoneses, porque son de calidad.

I ride a modern koga signature but I can't help marvel every time I see an ojisan on one of these bikes. Too bad most Japanese see bicycles as something to be used until it's worn out and then abandoned at the department store parking.

+Bill Ralens Yes indeed, times have changed and in a broad sense bicycles are quickly joining the growing disposable society. Sad but true.

Hi there. Online auctions and flea markets are the places I hunt for parts. I replied by email, let me know what you are looking for and I will let you know if I can find it here. Happy wheels!

I recognized the astonishingly beautiful bike (possibly my favorite of the many beautiful bikes in this video) shown in the screenshot as the one you restored in your "Trash to Treasure" video, but when I looked up "Magnet Cycle Works" on Google, I found nothing! Do you know of a website with a good Magnet archive with lots of pictures and historical information about those bikes in English?
