In this Brick Therapy session, I rank all the Vintage LEGO sets from the Pirates theme that included Imperial Soldier, also known as the Blue Coats.

I respectfully disagree with your ranking. Forbidden Island should be mentioned first, because it only has one unremarkable Soldier, and because it's a Pirates set. Sea Mates is next, because it only has two Soldiers and there really isn't much to this set (if you can even call it a set). Harbor Sentry's next. The minifigure is quite unique in terms of composition, and because the bicorne hat has no printing on it. And you get a cannon, which is always nice. Rock Island Refuge is not an Imperial set, and so what you get here is a sailing ship with two Soldiers. But because the sail is so unique I'd put this over the Harbor Sentry. From here on, I agree with how you rank these.

Thanks for your comment. I see where you’re ranking is coming from and I don’t disagree with you. The unremarkable soldier is my favorite minifigure of the theme. I could not get enough of them. Ideally I would only have one each of the other minifigures. 🤷🏻‍♂️ But, that’s just my 2 cents. 😉

@@BrickTherapy Hi BT, by 'unremarkable' I meant that it's just your stand Imperial Soldier. Is that your favorite minifig? I do agree that some minifigs should only have one representative. It's like how they included a Redbeard in every other set, while it's technically all the same individual. I do get why they did it, but you end up with a lot of figures for what's essentially the same character. Standard soldiers need to look alike by definition, but different faces could've worked to set them all apart from each other, right? Maybe a bit much to ask, given that this was a new theme back then, and they just started doing different faceprints. By the way, I love seeing all of those Imperial Soldier sets together. Wish I had them all.

When I can out of my latest dark age last year, I didn’t own any of the pirate/imperial sets. All I had were minifigs that I kept in storage. 😉 My parents gave all my sets away when I was away for graduate school. 😞 It has taken a lot of money to rebuild my collection. Maybe too much. 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@BrickTherapy Yeah that's the main reason why I don't purchase them; you quicky end up spending a whole lot of money. I grew up with multiple siblings, and my parents weren't that wealthy, so they didn't buy us everything we wanted. But luckily they never gave it away lol (that's tough), and I do have a couple sets, including the old BSB. Last year during the lock-down I collected everything I had; broke it all down, cleaned every single brick and reconstructed it: put it on display and it looks great. I had quite a few spare parts from other sets that we had and managed to put Lagoon Lock-Up and Shipwreck Island (6260) together, even though I don't actually own those sets. I'd love to own Eldorado Fortress, and I did find it online once in a town near to where I live, but the guy was asking a lot of money for it and with the current pandemic, I just didn't feel comfortable buying it - for now at least. Top on my list is Pirates of Barracuda Bay, but we'll see. Anyway, I love your videos; take care BT!
